I mean, it sounds like you’re malnourished, so that does affect how your brain functions.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Other than the method of taking each paragraph and boiling them down into simple terms, what are some easy to study and read socialist theory?
3·20 hours agoMaybe a book of excerpts or an anthology might be helpful, so it’s less daunting?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What tourist destinations do you think are NOT overrated?
3·1 day agofor me the best part was the museum below. the method of how it was designed is just as impressive as the (near) finished product.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If the next pres. is a Democrat and wants to roll back all of Trumps bullshit. How can they do that quickly and efficiently?
422·1 day agoThey really will not be able to. He has fired 75-90% of many agencies’ employees. This is going to take decades fix, and every election we lose will extend that.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What tourist destinations do you think are NOT overrated?
43·1 day agofair question, I’ve never been to the one in Japan. I’ve heard it’s more of a day time event there.

62·1 day agoHalloween Horror Nights is too crowded and expensive, but it’s one of the coolest things our country does. If you’re a Halloween person, you should go some year.
I’m still learning, but Rainbow Plant Life is the only reason I can make a 1/2 decent dish. To this day, I still need recipes for things I haven’t made before/in a while. Generally I think of cooking as a “You get out of it what you put into it” kind of deal. If you want good food, it’s going to cost money and time.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Say we succeed in bringing down Capitalism. Then what?
261·2 days agoProduction caps, energy expenditure caps, more efficient redistribution systems. Basically “produce what we need and then stop.” Redirect energy from acquiring more resources to developing intellectual thought and artistic talent.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How are you doing today? Life's treating you good so far?
4·2 days agoI couldn’t sleep from 3:30-5 last night. Coughing and blowing my nose. Interview this morning. Didn’t do my readings for yesterday or today. Don’t really want to be existing right now.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Can people irl be as mean as some people online?
25·3 days agoIt’s worse in real life, because it’s personal. You will experience the absolute depth of human cruelty from the people you love the most.

141·3 days agoIt already gets political ?s even though it’s not supposed to. Taking out the rule just encourages even MORE of them.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's your most unbelievable (but true) personal story?
7·4 days agoI made the local paper when I was 8 years old. It was a cute little picture of me fixing my friend’s hair band before our may crowning. That was it.
Threads. It’s better if you want a normal social media experience (which I realize a lot of people on lemmy do not).

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Do you think people from more "privilaged" backgrounds have a right to complain about the struggle and/or abuse that they went through? (eg: "Middle Class" or "Rich" family)
5·5 days agoThere are some things that are just wrong regardless of your income bracket. Eg. Let’s say your parents give your brother a vacation to Bali for his 16th birthday and they make you stay home by yourself. Even if somebody’s parents could never afford to go to Bali, they’d still empathize that the exclusion you experienced was wrong. Whereas complaining that your dream wedding gown designer was booked so you have to get your 2nd favorite is rich person problems territory.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•[NSQ] What are you actually looking forward to this year?
2·5 days agomy year is pretty up in the air at this point. I have a birthday vacation scheduled but I probably will cancel/won’t be able to afford it.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•When did it become normalized to start passing credit card processing fees to the customer?
20·5 days agoThat’s been a thing since the beginning of the cards being implemented. In the US they’ve tried to make it illegal, but like, economics doesn’t work that way. The store owner needs to make a profit, so the fee is going to the customer.

I think you should start with Nixon. Start with the war on the drugs. Some people like to believe that racism “stopped” after the civil rights movement, but we just changed the way we described the targeting.
