I’m disappointed that my fascination for sword staves came from his video, and he turned out to be a bigoted pro AI chud that is jealous of his own brother because his brother is reaping the hard work he put up as an artist
Trying out piefed.zip.
This could be my main.
I am also @JayGray91@piefed.social on piefed.social, @JayGray91@lemmy.zip on lemmy.zip, @JayGray91@lemmy.world on lemmy.world, @JayGray91@fedia.io on fedia.io, and @JayGray91@kbin.earth on kbin.earth

Add thick long sleeves and long pants and I’d give it a go in this weird scenario.

I remember they have a sister sub that breaks out of the role playing that can give input. maybe I am misremembering though.
but yes I agree, the rules for nosleep is no breaking the fourth wall.

I used to read /r/nosleep and listen to the podcast a lot around 2015 - 2019. Somehow by the end I just don’t like them. I can’t put a finger why.
I wonder if they’re battling AI slop posts a lot nowadays.
Forgot to add that I don’t want to deal with building a community 😅
Yeah I’m part of the chicken and egg problem we have here but that’s just super hard work for me
It’s community as weird and niche like that that’s hard to find or start and maintain on the threadiverse¹ that I miss from reddit.

This is good. I want them to succeed with this. This way it could tell Elecom to open-source their mouse firmware and that could make their trackballs more accessible. Come on, Elecom, I need an improved Deft Pro, with open-source firmware!

tbf as a kid I sometimes chew on aluminium foil wrapper of candies (back when they wrap some candies in aluminium) to extract the last dregs of candy. so I kind of can empathize lol

Lovely site. Easy to follow, but I might be biased lol
I’ll be sharing this with others in my groups

Sounds like it will be torture for passengers
added the italicized words because I didn’t read the article before :P

I jumped to another piefed instance that doesn’t have that shit. A shame about the comms held hostage in .social though.
IIRC the implementation also effects how users receive votes for posts and comments, not just the users giving it

IMO the greatest strength of piefed is the built in on-boarding to kick start your subscriptions to not feel so empty (since you don’t have any communities subscribed yet or you joined a smaller instance) or too overwhelming (since you joined a big instance and browse All). I signed on piefed.social a year ago and that is what made me stay over the last 2 attempts. A solid foundation to replace the algorithm in reddit. The crosspost support and collecting comments from same posts in different comms is the brick walls and cement for that foundation.
And when the vote quota shit happened, I jumped to .zip because they practically disabled it (IIRC it cannot be turned off, but zip admin just make it impossibly high. It might have changed by now idk (regarding can’t be turned off))
and from some mentions I’ve seen occasionally piefed also has better mod tools. don’t quote me on that, can’t really vouch.

Don’t have to install anything. Some instance make it the default though, but I think most front end like Voyager or Alexandrite (or tesseract since we are discussing it) you can visit their web page and point your home instance to use their UI.
Edit; I’m copying a comment someone else made here https://piefed.zip/comment/6322459 since it’s pretty consise than what I explained 😅
It’s a frontend. So literally a skin to make a website look prettier and more organized.
Imagine a waiter starts telling customers what foods they are allowed to eat. He wasn’t the chef, the manager, the owner, anybody.
That’s how stupid it was.

It kind of is, considering it’s still an app of sorts, but using the web browser. I just keep using “front end” because that’s what others call it. I see it like an app. but yeah, it’s to change the UI if you don’t like the default lemmy UI.

Hmm. I learned something today. Thanks. I think.

bottom face/hands,
I usually don’t like to play the “English as second language” card, as I take great pride learning it, but I need to for this one lol. what does this mean?

It’s a front end to change the UI of lemmy, and others like lemmy. you can see some examples of others here: https://www.lemmyapps.com/ . Filter by web app to see some of the other popular ones.

I don’t really go on a blocking spree much. How would a front end’s block list implementation be different than the instance’s choice of software’s block list implementation?
I hardly browse All and Local. I am on a piefed based instance, and leave “Enable Automatic Follow of Feed Communities.” and “Enable Automatic Leave of Feed Communities.” on. So kind of my subscribed feed is semi automatic as long as I follow a broad topic.
I sometimes wonder what TB would become if the cancer didn’t kill him. I keep wishing he would turned out decent, but the stress of him dealing with cancer starting to show some cracks. I understand, cancer sucks major ass though.
