Good fucking luck. There is a realization washing over these folks that they’ll never make their investment back and they’re tightening the screws. The reason it spread like wildfire is that you can do so much for “so little $”. Like any good drug dealer they’re hoping we’re so hooked that they can do whatever with the prices now - and oh boy are they in for a surprise. The Cloud playbook is not going to work here, the cost of replacing this shit is too cheap and not at all vendor locked. The average big dumb company with the deepest pockets is hardly in the experimentation phase still.

The empty efforts to appease the board that come a large costs need to show some ROI though, it can only be smoke and mirrors for so long. The big dumb ones I’m talking about are the ones who buy huge packages and just give out licenses like candy to 10k+ people without any tech background who have been doing the same thing for 20 years without any direction on how to utilize them are the ones I’m talking about. Early adopter tech first companies can’t foot all that bill.

Yeah, I work at a very large corp, and they’re still very early in rolling out AI tools (hilariously recently got an email saying they’re on the “cutting edge” which is absolutely not true) basically so far they rolled out copilot and are adding in automatic transcribing/note taking on all phone calls.
