Are you taking about neuropathic itch? I believe it can be a sign of a bigger problem or if you only getting it once in a blue moon: you are just getting old.

I would check the basics, get a blood test done. Pobably that would see most of the big culprits? Just go and see a doctor.
And it sounds silly but in the best case scenario it can even be callouses trapping some moisture - so spend some time to shave that dead skin off.
