    im going through this bs right now with a new phone. It is ridiculous the amount of hidden settings that are obfuscated by generic settings which conceal the background settings that still allow for data theft.

    You need to enable dev mode, connect to a pc in debug mode to run ADB so you can carefully delete all the spyware using curated lists of files that deleting wont brick the phone. It is exhausting. Linux for all phones plz.

    If only we could apply the “cattle not pets” philosphy to phones. I’d love to be able to reprovision a phone as fast as a failed server. They are both computers, aftet all.

    Same here. My wife got a he phone, and I got one six weeks ago. My path was more difficult (I could not migrate due to the old phone being dead), but her migration to the same model was rather easy. After all, I knew which junkware to remove, and how to skirt that Samsung account.

    All in all, it was rather easy to uninstall most junk (although I had to wait for it getting installed first by the system installer). Lets see how long I can keep those junk apps away.
