    This is a tricky subject to approach, since it can be reduced to a really hurtful or even misogynist slogan, but I’d like to see more physical comedy in media involving women. Think running into walls, smacked by a spinning plank, or depending on the cartoon believability of the media, crushed by a falling piano.

    I started a longer writeup of why that’s “important” to me but before I bend over backwards to defend it I’m curious what others think.

      No I agree, slapstick and cartoon hijinks shouldn’t be gatekept by gender. To this day I still can’t fathom why it’s funny when men do it but cringe when women do it.

      Kaitlin Olson! I haven’t seen much of her work outside It’s Always Sunny, but afaik she’s a vocal advocate for physical comedy

      I can think of at least a few cartoons that have women/girls be the subject of slapstick comedy. Ed, Edd, & Eddy has a bunch. In Phineas & Ferb Candace has her shit rocked pretty frequently
