Like, say they’re real (or they mock a very real if as yet unnamed phenomenon)—its always the same archetypal/prototypical scene playing out in the same way porn is in the sense it aint over till at least someone cums and it aint over until the crowd applauses

    Because its a common exaggeration that happens in TV and films quite a bit. So when making up a story why not draw on it?

    because we all want to feel justified in what we do. Having someone agree with you, even when it’s fake, feels nice. It’s also how “and then everyone clapped” became a meme.
