    Of course it can be done. But governments don’t want privacy-preserving verification. They want total surveillance made easy for them.

    Theres no such thing, no matter how you build it or what measures are put in place eventually someone will breech it.

      Breach what exactly? The database your local authority has anyway? Yeah probably, but that’s irrelevant. The access logs to whatever server you needed to prove your age to? Yeah probably, but they’ll only have proof that [authority name] vouches for anonymous visitor 1367654578876433

      Perhaps if your local authority saves these too, that could be breached but that would be stupid
