It’s not yellow probably because of how old it is and potentially the sun discoloring it. I’m betting someone dropped it or hoped someone would step on it and it would be a funny beach gag. That’s my guess anyway.
What you posted is exactly what popped in my mind when I saw it as well.
Stepping on and breaking a glass bottle on the beach where you are likely to be barefoot isn’t very funny. :/
