My wife and I’s app of choice for sharing and storing is dying. The dev team was bought out by some corpo/VC and as a result their side project of a usable planner app is going sideways.

We currently use it for the following, and importantly they are updated on both our devices when one person makes a change.

  • recipes
  • needed groceries
  • vehicle maintenance info
  • to do list for home maintenance, such as changing air filters or cleaning gutters, etc.

GoodTask or OmniFocus are good one-time paid options, I’m certain they would have family sharing and they allow file attachments, pretty much anything you would ever need. If its not, there are millions of workarounds and they seem quite actively developed

Stay away from subscriptions, history repeats and rhymes

Keep some tasks as LISTs that you never “complete” but you can all add to and modify as you notice things running out or refilling or ongoing tasks or any other system aspect that needs to be kept up to date. Honor system heh

Not opposed to paying for it, so that’s fine.

Our current use is a subscription, much to my chagrin.

GoodTask seems closer to what we’re looking for. I’ll check it out!

I love their UI particularly for the date entry, i dont even mind the not having natural language for dates cuz its so fun to press the different time buttons to get to your date
