I have never been an "online community first" person. The internet is how I stay in touch with people I met in real life. I'm not a "tweet comments at celebrities" guy. I was never funny enough to be the funniest person on Twitter.
So when Twitter was accidentally purchased
I liked the writing and agree with the general reasons, but this is going a tad bit too far:
There’s no reason to think things are more trustworthy or less biased here than on commercial social media. The fact that people here are not trying to build a brand because there’s no money to make in this small network is not enough to make it more trustworthy.
It may make conversations more genuine, but that’s not a guarantee for correctness either.
