I don’t see why they would use AI instead of picking an appropriate image or making something quick in Gimp or paint, it just makes me not want to be part of those communities.

        Superbowl is in the clear then! I just use a background remover and layer a nice scene for our banner.

        Agreed, even if I have a bit of a beef with upscaler in gaming like DLSS, and I’m talking of DLSS before the new disastrous one, because I feel like studios use that tech to avoid optimizing their games

          DLSS5 is blending upscaling tech with GenAI to “enhance” the image by destroying the actual artistic work that made it to try and make it more “realistic.”

          I do agree with older versions being used as a crutch, tho. It’s not the tech in that case, but how the majority of the industry is using it.
