An Israeli advertising agency has been serving millions of online adverts that allow “zero-click” spyware to be used against targets, researchers at a Canadian university have said.
Citizen Lab, a digital investigations research unit at the University of Toronto, said it believed dozens of devices at the Qatari broadcaster Al Jazeera had been compromised by spyware delivered through ads run by Discover-Tech, which describes itself as a specialised digital advertising agency.

Once again proving that my PiHole is an essential security component on my network instead of just something that blocks annoying ads.
You’re saying that uBlockOrigin would not block these ads ?
uBlock Origin and Pi-hole are both fantastic (but different) tools.
It would only block these ads if they are displayed in a browser with ublock installed. Apps would still be a problem.
Where did they say that?
Maybe, but my PiHole blocks these ads before they even hit my network. I have no ads on any device in my home, including phones, tablets, smartwatches, etc.
Any guest that comes over and connects to my wifi suddenly sees a much cleaner internet.
