Culture can stay the same, for all I care. The important thing is keeping the bots out.
The people will create the culture naturally and naturally it will evolve over time and time again.
There are a million little slices of each site/service, where the culture in that particular community or thread or specific comment chain can differ from somewhere else.
So I would say that no, we shouldn’t make the fediverse a monoculture. And with that diversity within the fediverse, we can say that some parts will be similar to some parts of reddit, and some parts won’t. And some parts won’t be similar to some other parts of the same instance.

In trying to figure out if you misremembered the phrase “blackjack and hookers” or if '“beans and hookers” is some other reference, all I found were pages for Boston sex workers.
I just fused beans from Lemmy with the blackjack and hookers, instead of saying like beans and deans.

Having migrated a couple times, I’ve found that instances have their own culture and I don’t see anything wrong with that.
Most of us are here because reddit is shit and unusable. Why would we want that here?
