Is this an actual question or projection? Personally, that would be unlikely. My view is that, while an individual, I’m part of a community. As such I have a personal obligation to serve that community. I do this to set an example in the hopes that others will do the same. It happens to work. The only way it wouldn’t would be if everyone is a selfish asshole. In that case, I would do it anyway and probably more. Be the change you want to see in the world.

I would seriously question why I had views that no other person shared.

It’s one thing to have a minority opinion, but if literally no one else shares that view, then I’m almost certainly wrong and should rethink things.
