I’ve had this same problem with portmaster and stardew on my RG353v. Haven’t been able to workout a solution. Fingers crossed you do.

I’ve been using Mozilla products for going on 20 years on my windows PCs, and other than websites arbitrarily deciding they don’t work on non chrome browsers, I’ve rarely had issues.

Today at work someone posted in the it slack channel complaining that chrome has auto restarted three times got mandatory updates in the last day wondering if he could get it stopped because it was messing with his work. I’m just over here using the same Firefox instance for months at a time, and even when I have to restart my whole computer it perfectly pulls up my previous session, even distributing the windows across their previous monitors. I never really liked chrome, idk how it caught on so much with people. I’d legit rather use pre-chromium edge, at least it was fast.

And open it up and clean the shit out of it because non-distilled water leaves a lot of contaminants even after it dries.

No but they’re taking it to repair shops who then find that they can’t recover their customers data because it’s encrypted and then they lose al their photos and data they never backed up, because they’re not tech-savvy.

Alas, I have just enough native blood to not be able to grow a beard, and not enough to not go bald. Worst of both worlds haha

That’s a great story! An Xbox mod chip was my first soldering job! It was a Team Xecutor chip, and I too used an old, terrible iron. I’m honestly not even sure how I did it, when I got more into soldering later, and looked up that chips installation process, I was amazed I was able to do it. My dad got me the mod chip even though he hated gaming because he thought correctly that it would be a great learning opportunity for me. He always supported my curiosities and hobbies. I’ve got to go thank him now. Thanks for sharing the story with me.

It was done for, he got another one but it wasn’t nearly as expensive. It wouldn’t be for quite a few more years before I learned how to non-destructively disassemble things, and I didn’t have access to many tools. I can barely remember now but I’m pretty sure I used a butter knife to get out screws and pry stuff open. I just didn’t understand how a little box could record videos and I had to try to figure it out. I was probably 7 or 8, based on where I lived when it happened.

For real. He could have very reasonably been very angry at me, and it might have defeated my curiosity before it really got a chance to get going, but by doing what he did, he associated it with good feelings that continued through until now.

I have a computer I use mostly in my office, but sometimes I run games on it, because why not, that has a Xeon x3460. It can run literally every game I’ve thrown at it at 60fps, and it can do literally any workload I need it to do. It’s 15 years old. This isn’t the 80s or 90s where technology is changing so fast that you have to upgrade every year or two to keep up. There’s very little reason to upgrade if you have a working computer.

A brand new multi thousand dollar video camera that my pops had saved up for. I disassembled it entirely, just trying to figure out how it worked. He wasn’t even mad at me. I grew up and now can fix just about any electronic down to the component level. I like to think he saw the curiosity in me and was more proud than anything.

My knees have been going out since I was like 16, so I’ve felt pretty old for a long time. I think my biggest old person thing is being very particular about my bedtime each night and always getting up at the same time. I definitely did not do that in my twenties.

Now try doing that while pushing 4k120hzHDR content. Which, I know isn’t for everyone, but it sure as hell needs that signal integrity.

My 405m performs worse than my Pocket Flip, despite both having the same hardware. I love it, it’s super high build quality, and the 4:3 screen and lower resolution are nice to not have vertical bars or to need to fuss with above native resolutions, but if I want to play GameCube, I bust out the Retroid, especially since the flip has Analogue triggers.

Private companies aren’t bound to make profit. I purposefully tanked my companies profit to literally 0 during the pandemic so I could keep my employee on at full wage while only open half time. A private company can make profit for shareholders, but it doesn’t have to. It can do whatever the shareholders want it to do, within the boundaries of the law.

The wf-1000mx3 are earbuds, and they have some of the best noise cancelling on the market… or did when they came out. I guess they are a few years old now, but it’s significantly better than any non-Sony ANC I’ve ever used, headphone or earbud.

None of them. Side roads are almost always better around here.

At least some of their displays still are. The current 16” MacBook Pro has a 3456x2234 (what else uses 1.5:1 aspect ratio, so weird…) resolution, with HDR1000, and pre-calibrated profiles for a variety of film and graphic design color spaces. Just a monitor matching those specs is close in price to a base model 16”. Then professionally calibrating it if you’re not set up to do so yourself isn’t cheap either.
