Food is quickly becoming out of reach of many Americans.
I’m not aware of any Americans worried their children will starve to death. Various housing and food assistance programs exist. Such apocalyptic language simply does not ring true.

Would rioting actually make anything better?
Yes I love how America didn’t have a war of independence or a civil war.
Why would we have a war over the elected president…holding office? Dems need to do better and win the next election, not start a civil war.
On how to respond; if it’s on the internet: It’s rude and stifling discussion, downvote and move on.
If it’s in person: Probably a good time to change topic. Or, if it is something that is actually important for that specific person, you need to tell them how it directly impacts them in a way they do care about. If they still give the ‘no one cares’ response, it’s absolutely a good time to change topic.
in the US you loose your right to abortion entirely
This is a massive, massive exaggeration of the state of abortion access in the US.
The US is now trying to take Panama, Canada and Greenland
Trump likes to bluster. The US will not be invading Panama, Canada, or Greenland.
The US isn’t moving like you think it is moving. And that seems to be throwing off your views on how European and US relations have been and will continue to develop over the next decade.
Europe has been moving geopolitically closer to the US over the last few years as, most notably, Europe moves quickly away from Russian energy and toward US energy. We have also seen increased purchasing of US arms by European countries. Have a look at F-35 and HIMARS sales, for example. Poland, in particular, went on a huge buying spree for US and Korean arms.
Furthermore, European countries are building manufacturing plants in the US, rather than making the stuff in Europe and shipping it over. This is most apparent with German cars.
To answer your question: “Who do you see Europe collaborating more with in the future”, and the answer is resoundingly the US. With upticks in collaboration with SE Asian countries that aren’t China.
Perun does some excellent defense economics and analysis. Probably one of the channels I have learned the most from.
Jake Broe does regular updates on the Russo Ukraine war which I always find helpful.
And finally, Zeihan on Geopolitics, does, well, what the name says. I find he brings ideas I hadn’t thought of, or that are not well explained, into clarity.
Nebula focuses mostly on 7-50min, edited content. That is to say, not shorts and no let’s plays. They have some solid originals, like the Battle of Britain series, however most of their content is also available on youtube. What most creators do is offer the ad free version on Nebula (ie no in-video ad-reads), and Nebula doesn’t add ads themselves. Many creators will also create supplemental videos that aren’t available elsewhere that go into more detail on one part of the prior story; something LowSpecGamer does quite a bit.
On the negative side, because the content is all edited (ie, not things like lets play) and there are less creators overall, you can’t sit down and watch Nebula all day every day like you can youtube. Also, as mentioned earlier, much of the content is also available on youtube.
I personally like it and happy to support creators I like. The extra content is solid and it’s nice creators are rewarded for making quality content.
Yeah, I have switched quite a bit of my viewing over to Nebula. Bunch of the creators I like are over there since Youtube punishes high-effort content.
Yeah, I have some EBL brand 1.5v rechargeable batteries since the VR handsets I own are pretty sensitive to low voltage. They were unfortunately a bit more expensive than regular 1.2v rechargeables.
It continues to gather interest. If you don’t pay it down, you will have a larger loan in the future.
Pay your debt.
Since you said you aren’t getting power to the bulb at all with the switch on. I would start by killing power via the circuit breaker, unscrewing the cover of the switch and checking the continuity between the two powered terminals on the switch using a multi-meter. It should read continuous when on, not when off.
If that test passes, check for GFCI outlets on the same circuit, see if any of them are tripped. A GFCI outlet, when properly wired, will protect an entire circuit and cut power to it.
Agreed. A karma total is a negative part of Reddit, and caused people to seek bigger number even harder than they already do.
“How impressed everybody is” is the basis of money, law, self-worth and our models of reality
Money
Is it? I don’t try to impress anybody with money I do or don’t have. If you do, consider not doing so. You might find your finances in a better state.
self-worth
Don’t, I repeat, do not base your self worth on what other people think. Listen to their input and make yourself the best person you can be. But if you only have self-worth due to how impressed your neighbors are, you are going to have a very poor life as you make a continued bad decisions.
Law
There are vanishingly few laws that are centered around impressing anybody. The core theme to is to create laws that best allow for the functioning of society. For some easy examples, lack of criminalizing murder, lack of property rights, or lack of a tax code all fuck up modern society pretty quick.
our models of reality
I’m not sure how ‘impressing others’ is part of this at all? Our model of reality, ie physics, chemistry, math, have nothing to do with impressing others?
Since I do quite a bit of gaming, 2k/120hz by a far margin. The fewer pixels makes it easier to turn the graphics up more, and the extra frame-rate cap allows for games to be nice and smooth.
My main display is actually a 2k/144hz screen right now. :)
Why wouldn’t it cook a non-bread?
I’m not sure what cookware you have, but it sounds like you may be pretty limited on choices/space. I would highly recommend swapping the vertical toaster for a toaster oven. As they are basically little ovens that you can cook almost anything in, including toast and hotdogs.
If you are talking about the vertical style bread toaster, don’t cook anything that isn’t bread in those. If you are talking about a toaster oven, you can wrap it in foil and bake it.
A solid alternative, and what makes a hotdog’s flavor really pop, is cutting it into 6-10 pieces and pan frying it.
Baldur’s Gate 3, good for up to four player coop.
Borderlands 1 & 2, too.
you don’t even have to find and turn off the breaker. Just turn it off at the switch before you mess with it.
One word of caution here. If the light fixture is hooked up to a three-way switch, it is possible for the light to be off and BOTH sides of the circuit to be hot. This isn’t a common way to wire three-way switches and it isn’t to code anymore, but there are many homes out there with legacy switches wired as such. See: Carter 3-way switch.
Edit: Now with diagram!
Agreed. The fixtures with non-replaceable lights are a giant headache waiting to happen down the road. Always go with the replaceable bulb fixtures.
Edit: Not to mention the next person may not like the specific LED in that fixture and may want a brighter or dimmer one. With a replaceable bulb this is a 30s swap; with a non-replaceable bulb it is an entire project that the person may even need to hire a guy to do for them (read: expensive).
When I switched away from gmail, I found it to overall be pretty straightforward. Whenever I would log into a service, I update the email. Any service I didn’t log into clearly doesn’t matter enough to me. My gmail is now a spam account for old shit I don’t care about.
