Glad to hear you enjoy it!
Glad to hear you enjoy it!
Halt and catch fire. Expected nothing from it but we are really enjoying it.
Sh.itjust.works has been brilliant, tbh.
High uptime, reasonable admins.
Very happy with it
Jellyfin and the .arr suite.
It’s absolutely incredible and I am so greatful to anyone with the skillset and dedication to develop and maintain things like these.
Currently playing with Proxmox and HomeAssistant too.
Hat of to all of you legends involved in FOSS
Do they dislike me for no good reason? If yes: fuck them, I’m awesome!
Do they dislike me because I did something dumb? Let’s talk and let me appologise if I cocked something up for you. My intentions are rarely malicius.
This let’s me live a happy life knowing I didn’t ruin anyone’s day and ignore the rest.
Just to tack on and expand on your first point: LED monitors are normally LCD displays but with LED backligthing, allowing for more zone control and it is more efficient both with space and energy usage.
For TV’s, burn in is becomming less of an issue due to software in newer models and improvements in the tech. The same goes for phones. Older OLED phones like the Pixel 2 I think, had issues with burn-in.
Rtings is actually doing a long term torture test as we write. They have also included some PC monitors for good meassure.
In general, the reason why it’s still not perfect for PC is that all office/daily use retains a static image on a large portion on your screen. Imagine a browser, Excel or program with a big static toolbar. This will cause issues even with pixel shift and refresh cycles. You can only move pixels so much without it affecting your experience.
If you were to only game or watch movies on it, it would likely never show signs of burn-in.
Hope this made sense
Thank you, friend!
Pretty good!
I am in parental leave for another two months so I get to play with the little one and stay home.
Aren’t women safe in all states?
It’s a bit hard to fathom as a European, so I’d love some knowledge if you’d share
I’ve seen them in southern Europe on vacation, but never in the Nordics. Allways thought it was a Iberian/Latin thing (FR, ES, IT, PT). Guess they are more common than I thought.
He was being a cunt for no reason, so I had some fun responding to him.
Now you’re being a cunt, so I’m having some fun responding to you.
I’m doing this for your benefit, so you get to keep practicing reading comprehension. Thank me later, cunt.
I’m sure you did, but that is not a good thing. At least where I’m from, a contract is a must have. It states everything related to your job, including tasks, vacation time and salary. Without it you have fewer (or none) legs to stand on should your employer be an ass.
You wouldn’t buy a house without signing the paperwork proving it’s yours and you should not work without a signed contract.
I’m no neuroscientist so I can’t in good faith comment on our development, so I’m only arguing against the contract signing part.
I think your hot take is fine, but you do lack a certain way with words my friend.
Maybe next time hit the “post” button after the first three words. It would be better for everyone.
Interesting, but don’t you think it would cause issues as well?
We all develop differently and many are mature before 25 while I’ve ceetainly met people who are not even in their thirties. Do you have any research to support 25 being a more fitting age than 18?
Also: if you cannot enter contracts you cannot work. Do you really think everybody should not be able to hold a job until they reach 25?
We all have mate. That doesn’t make you a bad person.
Just strive to do a little better every day
CDG airport. I hate that place so much.
Heathrow, Schiphol and Frankfurt are all so much easier to navigate.
On a serious note though: I’ve never bern anywhere in Europe that I straight up disliked. Sanremo was probably the «least friendly» with locals all pushing us towards the casino at every oportunity. The city was also surprisingly worn down.
The local market was awesome though.
What did you get, internet stranger?
Quiet and peaceful.
If I could be rich but nobody knew, then sure.
Not into flashy things anyways
I was gonna say whales. Feels like a lot of tourists go up north to whale safaries.
Yeah this mirrors my approach to it.
People can like Trump/Musk or dream of Marxism in practice. I am so far from both ideologies that I find it difficult to relate to either, and end up being called a traitor by the left and a triggered lib/loser by the right. Lemmy is in my experience quite left.
The political differences have become so extreme that I just avoid any debate at all and stick to the technical stuff and hobbies. My sanity is more important to me than trying to convince someone over the pond that they are wrong.
Honestly, I just try to live my life as the best person I can be. I’ve gotten to old to try to change anyone else. And I have had some great encounters here, so I am not going back to Reddit anytime soon.
Stay awesome, people!
