I remember flashes of struggling to get to the side of the pool one moment, and flashes of waking up in an ambulance the next. then it cuts out again, and then I woke up in a hospital room with tubes in all my holes (plus some tubes in new holes) and surrounded by my mom and brothers.
well, technically, FC assimilated Earth happened in an alternate timeline, but you make a good point about the Domino War and wanting to avoid that. So, yeah, I’d want to arrive after that ended.
the alt-right movement is like an abusive relationship, made up of a bunch of very insecure people constantly seeking approval from an abuser who doles it out with an equal amount of degradation, keeping them confused and isolated enough that they have no choice but to keep coming back because - after having driven everyone else away with their hateful rhetoric - the abusive alt-right is now their only source of “community” at all.
I just looked at the mod log— ew… I can see what you’re dealing with there. I suggest you just permaban them, as I doubt they’re going to change their behavior. also, keep an eye out for similar comments/commenting styles that might be indicative of alts (alt accounts).
btw, as mod, you can just ban a user right from their comments— you don’t need to report them yourself!

That’s actually a really good question. I can’t answer for certain, but, sine moderation on lemmy isn’t particularly sophisticated yet, I think it’s safe to assume that you’re not going to be able to see them, even as mod, if you have them blocked personally.
if that’s the case (most likely), your most likely tow choices are to either permaban them from your community or to live with leaving the user un-blocked for moderation purposes.
one third option would be to mod your community with an alt account or appoint some other user to help out…
It’s possible they had a dead BIOS battery, and whenever they had to boot up, they had to reset the BIOS clock, or the system would go haywire thinking it was Jan 1, 1992 or whatever the default date was.
i read through it, too. it’s pretty textbook sealiong, and I don’t see how you don’t see that. as for transparency, that’s what the modlog is for.
if your stance is to punish the victim, I’ll know to see clear of this community myself. since fostering a toxic atmosphere is your goal, this isn’t a community I want to be a part of
