Like what, any specific examples?

I have been hearing this repeatedly as a talking point from people defending Firefox but without any specific example of what they do and don’t allow themselves to take and sell, it rings quite hollow.

Mine just stays on the counter. At the spot it’s in, if I had an accident and it tried to go flying, the wall of the retracted slide room would block it. But in 3 years of driving with it, it hasn’t flown off.

Countertop dishwashers are a thing. I found one that fits on the tiny counter I have, and do my chopping and slicing on the kitchen table instead.

I’ve been living in a motor home for five years. It’s pretty good for me, I work from home and have spent a good long time at dozens of national parks and other awesome places.

Also boring places. Moving all the time and fixing broken things can be stressful and staying in nice places can be expensive. But overall it’s been way better for me than sitting in a house and staring at the walls.

(Not a woman): my partner does not like receiving oral sex or other kinds of sex where she is mostly passive/receiving, because she doesn’t like feeling put on the spot and obligated to react.

If your partner has been not getting much from sex for a long time now, then she is also probably feeling a lot of pressure to change and behave right and react as expected which would be not pleasant for her.

Maybe ask her if she wants to play a game where she reads a book out loud (sexy book or bit sexy book) or play a cozy video game or some other activity where you get to enjoy yourself playing with her body for potentially a long time, and she has something else to pay attention to besides her own sexual performance? That would probably also go well with deep toys on low power as well.

Just, maybe avoid Call of Duty for this one. It has to be a lazy activity she’s doing. If her attention is successfully diverted 100% to the point the sex is an irritating distraction then that’s not any fun for anybody

That would be super awesome if navigation apps had profiles.

Like, when I’m driving my car I go the speed of traffic or maybe a little fast.

And when I’m driving my motorhome I go 65mph tops and really slow up hills.

But totally nobody does this. Even the RV Trip Wizard app (built around Here navigation) makes you choose between “I drive XXX speed on average” (ignoring actual speed limits and conditions, just assume constant speed) or just assume normal traffic.

Why can’t they recognize that different drivers drive differently???

We pushed “the guide to getting it on” on our children at a relatively early age and invited them to discuss, which ensured they would never, ever, ever ask us anything about sex.

I am personally impressed. That is a very bad year.

So what is actually the deal with CutCo? I know they’re a scam, everyone knows they’re a scam, but this one particular woman I know to be in general not a dummy, says her son spent the summer selling their knives once and made good money.

Was he just lying to her? How does the scam work?

What did MEC do? I never heard of them before last month when I bought a backpack while visiting Canada.

I was talking about charging subscription fees for the instance login, not ads. I imagine if you wanted to fork lemmy and change it to inflict ads on your instance users you could do that, too.

I’m not thinking it’s an awesome business proposition right now, but if the fediverse gets big enough that users are willing to pay for Enterprise Reliability™ then I could see it happening.

It used to be that you could self-host your email server or use your cool friend’s server. But these days almost everybody uses commercial hosting. I see lemmy and mastodon going the same way if they grow enough.

This is an excellent case in point — for most instances there kind of just, somebody felt like making an instance and here it is. If you don’t know anybody specifically there’s not much reason to pick one over another. Maybe in future somebody will start up commercial instances like email providers and charge extra to have better reliability or a cool name or whatever but so far the instances seem to be pretty much run for the sake of neighborly kindness and fun.

Some instances have enough of a special interest that they get a distinct identity and reputation.

If you go look at what’s posted/hosted locally on the hexbear instance you’ll see it’s got a shit-ton of general trolling, shit-disturbing, lib-pwning, and general 4chan activity. If that’s your jam, you can sign up there and have a “local” feed with that kind of content, concentrated.

Meanwhile I’ve seen a number of calls to defederate from hexbear recently and if you sign up there you will not see or interact with whomever is posting from those instances who say no to trolling.
