I disagree, you can see so much on the old layout specifically because it’s a wall of text. The new layout is unnecessarily bloated and takes up your whole screen on every device you view it from, so you can barely see more than one or two posts at a time. It removes the ability for the user to freely scroll and look at things that interest them, and forces the user’s attention onto exactly what the algorithm wants them to. The new layout removes a ton of agency from the user.

I think a lot of it was just that his humor was very much of its own time. That sort of early 2010s style of comedy hasn’t aged too well.

Haven’t seen his new stuff, though. Honestly didn’t even know he was still in the comedy scene at all, might have to give it a watch!

While I would understand your reasoning for doing so, I would be disappointed to see it happen. There’s decent discussions on Beehaw that I enjoy taking part in, however if you guys decided to defederate or switch to a different platform entirely, I doubt that I would make another account somewhere else to follow. I like Beehaw’s content, but I have enough accounts to keep track of these days after everything split from Reddit, so it would ultimately be a loss for me.

I’m not sure if this is a commonly-held opinion for those of us outside of Beehaw, though.

I couldn’t find any details on their page, but do you know how they handle bank account syncing? Is it using a backend service like Plaid or something similar to securely link the accounts, or do you have to provide your bank credentials to the app directly?

Ahh, that’s an interesting angle I hadn’t considered. I wonder if there’s a way to quantify the water savings this way, like a volume of water per TP roll or something. I feel like that could be a solid selling point to get more people interested in buying one.

It’s not that ironic. In this case, the tool was creating a near-identical replication of the Disney logo. Generally, AI hasn’t been able to convincingly reproduce a logo like that with any degree of reliability (for instance, the jumbled logos in the Getty Images situation). It looks like the AI has actually advanced to the point where it actually violates Disney’s trademark. That crosses the line of fair use at that point.
