If you have an existing iPhone with T-Mobile, you can activate it with your previous phone which is much easier than calling customer support.

I ride Waymo on occasion. It’s generally fine. They don’t take highways and can vary in price, maybe more expensive on average. Can sometimes pick up and drop off a bit farther than a human driver would.
My wife like that you can change the temperature and there’s no pressure to talk to anyone.
Olympus E-M1 and I’ve basically just keep my 40-150 2.8 on it. I like to catch wildlife but it’s just useful to have since the range is not easily achievable by cell phones yet.
In terms of driver development it’s more collaborating than just Windows releasing an API and the manufacturers creating the drivers. Bug reports from large manufacturers are absolutely taken seriously. Customers usually never see this interaction.
I would say maybe 1990-2010 was really a dominant time for Windows and that was also when they were actively improving, but now they have plenty of competition. It’s just that people have moved away from desktops. Mobile platforms are now an existential threat. Fewer and fewer people are buying desktops to begin with. Maybe Microsoft has given up on desktops and that’s why they’re making Windows worse.
I’m not sure Windows is a good example here since they’re historically well known for backwards compatibility and fixing obscure bugs for specific hardware.
Whereas Linux famously always had driver support issues.
Yeah this is my goto time killer on the phone or tablet if I’m traveling. No need for an Internet connection so great on a plane.
If it’s something I don’t really want to do then it’s 1.5x my current salary assuming 8 hours of work per day.
I originally switched because there was still a small flagship iPhone. However I stayed because it works just fine and iMessage worked better than SMS for whatever that time period was before people moved to other messaging apps.
Now I use an Android phone for work and don’t really see enough advantage for me to switch.
Pokémon Puzzle League! Building up all the chains felt amazing! It’s a feeling I’ve tried to recreate it other similar games but haven’t found one with such a great implementation.
I think more research should be done as it may interact with the interstitium which is a relatively new discovery and may provide a scientific explanation.
My partner totally asks me questions she hears from TikTok trends. Man vs bear, etc.
Just a lot of the koala habitats got destroyed by wildfires and they’re more endangered than ever now. So I’m surprised if they’re commonly seen.
Are these common nowadays? Thought their environments got burned down.
Yeah but the compilers weren’t that good at optimization back then.
Yeah it would be nice if we could simplify instead of add a bunch of special cases.
However it’s easier said than done. In your example for carbon tax, how do you determine the cost of removing carbon? Does creating a new solar/wind power plant count? Does increasing efficiency in an existing home count? What’s the difference between that and just paying for carbon capture? This is what the carbon offset economy was supposed to be about but it’s ultimately difficult to implement correctly and inherently full of complexities. I’m not saying we shouldn’t try, but it’s really hard to simplify some things.
I think there’s evidence to show that even though punishments may be heavy, if the chance of getting caught is low people will still do it. So that means you’d need to increase surveillance and enforcement which comes with it’s own issues.
I’d like to think most democracies would enact some socialist policies if there was less money involved in politics… but I’m not sure what the best way to prevent that is.
You can craft laws but the legal system is also profit driven. And you’d need some way to either prevent corruption or get the motivations to line up correctly. But I can’t think of any practical solutions that also align with freedoms.
Capitalism isn’t a form of government the way democratic socialism is? But to your point, even Adam Smith realized the problems with a legal and governmental system that is controlled by corporations to be a terrible idea. He was well aware that profit motives without limit leads to mistreatment of individuals.
My old iPhone took a swim but it mostly came back. The face sensor and NFC stopped working immediately but after a few months the NFC started working again. Eventually however parts of the touchscreen started failing in vertical strips. At first it was still usable but at some point too much of the screen became unresponsive I had a get a Bluetooth remote to use the phone.
I was stubborn about getting a new phone as I knew the iPhone 15 would get USB C and wanted to wait hot that.
New Zealand in general. Milford Sound in the rain when there’s thousands of waterfalls. The pristine wilderness.
Oh I’m saying this because I personally did this from an iPhone XS with a physical sim to a new iPhone with only eSIMs, so at least in my experience this works.
