Also yes, the quakers were also very anti slavery in the US. The quakers seem to be (from what I’ve read) on the right side of almost every issue the capitalist imperialist west has faced for as long as they’ve been around.

Imagine if the west had been dominated by the quakers during colonialism, instead of the puritans, how different the world would be.

I feel like I read a “what if” comic where Darkseid wins and he rules over the rest of eternity by himself and he just gets really bored and depressed. I might be misremembering that though.

It’s not a direct comparison, but look at what happens to people that have money and power in our society. They become evil monsters. I think superpowers could have a similar effect. Although getting money and power requires you to be a monster already on some level, I don’t think suddenly gaining superpowers would have the exact same effect.
