As a fat lad, I’d get maybe a year out of my trousers. But I’d probably get 20 years out of my t-shirts. I just had a clear out last weekend, and finally threw away a bunch of old t’s I don’t wear anymore, some of which were pushing 15 years old.
My gran once gave me a toilet brush. The base had penguins floating in blue liquid, but it was ultimately just a cheap toilet brush.
I gave her a beautiful marble maze.
I didn’t bother after that.
As a fellow school child in the ‘90s, I can confirm that almost anything anyone did was gay. Holding hands with a girl? Gay. Liking video games? Gay.

I’d probably lay on my sofa, mindlessly scrolling, beating myself up for not being more productive. It’s the ADHD way and there’s nothing you can do about it.
As someone with ADHD, I’m all about the 5 minute timer.
If I spend 0 minutes cleaning my kitchen, I will clean 0% of my kitchen. But if I set a 5 minute timer, I’ll almost always completely finish whatever cleaning I needed to do.
How is the $25 a month tier considered ‘better value’ than the $10 tier if your head unit has bluetooth? That badge is completely meaningless.
Here in the UK you can buy booze more or less anywhere that you can buy food. Almost any supermarket or corner shop will supply you what you want.
lonely Mac user pops in to say hello
When I was studying radio production at uni back in 2010, the Adobe Audition editing suite was rammed full of 2009 iMacs, all running WinXP. It was a bit of a headfuck for a moment, but iMac hardware was second to none, the uni must have got a decent discount from Apple to buy that many, and at the time Audition was Windows only.
And to be fair, they made for excellent editing machines.

Been fiddling with Mint lately on my 2011 Macbook Pro, with a view to using it for self hosting a bunch of stuff, but haven’t really had the time / brane capacity to really figure it all out.
Windows can lick my anus. I have Win11 in a VM on my work Mac, and it’s dreadful.
The story in To The Moon absolutely floored me when I played it.
I can’t say as to whether it runs on Linux, but it’s pretty old at this point and was never graphically intense to begin with so should. It’s a pretty short game too, but really is worth the time you’ll spend with it.
I have also stolen this idea and give it as much as one (1) week before I forget that I’m doing it.

To add to this, I set a five minute timer. I have ADHD, so even starting on cleaning can feel like a mountain to climb. That five minute timer is a really good way to see just how much you can get done in that amount of time. And as an added bonus, once you’ve started you figure you may as well finish.
I always wanted my music to sound nice, but could never afford the best equipment.
These days I have a set of Sony MDR-7506, and while I appreciate there are ‘better’ headphones, the detail I hear when listening to lossless audio through them is astonishing. I can listen to tracks I’ve heard dozens of times and hear elements that I’ve never noticed before. And these headphones are relatively cheap at £80.
All of these are good answers, but the movie with the best opening theme is obviously Alan Partridge - Alpha Papa.
I’d recommend The Blindboy Podcast, in which one half of the comedy rap duo the Rubberbandits talks about whatever’s taken his fancy that week. Sometimes it’s an hour about sniffing the crotch of a rented tuxedo, other times it’s a long, rambling conversation with Hollywood actor Chris O’Dowd. Or he could go on a deep dive about the history of a tennis ball.
I used to listen to a lot of podcasts. These days Blindboy’s is the only one I’m guaranteed to listen to every week.
I’ll also heartily recommend The Memory Palace.
It’s not as frequent as it used to be, but it’s always pleasant seeing an episode pop into my feed. They’re usually no longer than 15 minutes, and are a lovely little lens on some previously unknown facet of American history.
A Brief Eulogy for a Commercial Radio Station is the kind of writing that makes me sad, because I know I could never write something so beautiful.

The Blindboy Podcast
I’ll admit that this one may take a minute to really get, but once it locks in you’ll love it forever.
It’s basically just an Irish author, comedian, and former rapper telling stories, talking about mental health (he also has a masters in psychology), and interviewing people. One week he’ll be interviewing a couple of lads about insects, the next he has Cillian Murphy on. Last week was an hour about how he ended up in an office canteen covered in black hair dye, holding a bag of lemons.
It’s a wonderful podcast hug every week, and I can’t recommend it enough.
