Yeah, I kept my TV offline and plugged in an Nvidia Shield I debloated (really you just need to replace the launcher). You can do the same with any Android/Google TV device.

Why exactly does Samsung want the customer data? Are they wanting to ban their Samsung account or something?

So I went to university on a general computer science course, so this might already discount this answer. However, during my final year, a friend who was already in the industry convinced me to push towards a cloud engineering role (systems engineering specifically with cloud services like Amazon and Azure). This was not something my course covered at all, so we went through containers, AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes etc. during our free time before he got me an interview for a junior role when I graduated. I was very lucky with my circumstances but I don’t think I would’ve gotten the role without that extra study.
These roles are in demand and will be for the foreseeable future. If you have general Linux knowledge then you should be able to pick it up fairly quickly.
There are still platform exclusive podcasts, like on Spotify, but they don’t seem too prevalent. Podcasters seem to make most of their dough either through advertising sections, or having supporter exclusive feeds.
I wonder if podcast piracy is a thing.
Trakt would be good also and it covers film and TV.

Think I just don’t like places that are squeaky clean.
I’ve found I’ve used my phone a lot less, but it might be because I prefer either longer, more essay structured videos, or a good half hour unscripted comedy bit (podcast, video game, whatever). I don’t even bother with a lot of stuff under 10 minutes unless it’s something like an animation or a skit where that time would be unreasonable. Still though, they’re from channels I know, and aren’t ones I’m randomly being served. I’ve gotten more into TV recently because if it, and I read manga when I have a little bit of downtime.
Still though, the way popular web video has gone, it’s funny remembering YouTube nuking short videos a decade back when they changed the revenue structure. They already had the videos being made on their platform and actively discouraged them.
