My only windows machine left still runs Winamp. It may be old, but at least for playing my offline library, I really don’t know what they could possibly change. For everything else, I wouldn’t use Winamp anyway.

That thing is supposed to be a celebration of all Pokemon as it is #1000.
Make the artstyle more Pokemon-esque and they are much better than the actual gold Pokemon, Gholdengo. That thing is such a disappointment.
Yes, they do. And while I don’t get it on here either, at least they don’t line the pockets of some shitty company. Some moderation is necessary, and I guess I should be happy about other people doing it for free here.
That honestly says way more about mods than it does about Reddit. Of course you’re not gonna pay for a task people are lining up to do for free, no matter how much they themselves make.
Nope. I’m not very social online.
All in all, I just miss old message boards. Small specialized communities, organized and searchable. Large message boards did very much suck too. Discord comes closest, but the lack of a proper search and separate threads kill any usability. Also it’s Chinese spyware.
The pandemic. You know, I was casually traveling forward in time, taking it day by day, and then boom: pandemic time. Feels like I accelerated my travel since then.
Even if pretty much all popular languages are based on English, you do not have to learn English first. There aren’t that many keywords to begin with and your variables, functions and comments can be any language you want to. The hard parts of learning a language, like grammar, conjugation, pronunciation etc. all aren’t needed.
That being said, English still is the agreed upon language and people probably won’t contribute much to projects in other languages and you can’t read most documentations.
Yep, discord is an absolute eye sore. You go on any popular server and every major post is covered in animated rainbow barf - or super reactions as they call them.
Haven’t used Matrix, but profile pictures and gif/image reactions are find in chat apps when they are clearly seperated. It’s just a nightmare if you need to navigate through them on your limited screen space like on reddit or lemmy.
I don’t like emojis and never used them on purpose, just a few times before I found a setting to prevent the auto-replacement function in other apps. I kinda prefer pure text, couldn’t tell you why. Maybe because they distract the eye too much. But for the same reason I dislike profile pictures, awards and gif/image reactions.
That’s still pretty hit or miss for me. I’ve watched a video about cats exactly once a few weeks ago when my cat did something strange, and my recommendations are still littered with click-bait videos about certain cat behaviors. I watch tons of the aforementioned hour long analysis videos and I still need to resort to playlists compiling them instead of getting recommendations. To me, it seems the algorithm really wants to push certain types of content and will flood me with them if I so much as hover a video too long. But it really dislikes other types of content and almost hides them on purpose, despite me liking them. My best guess would be that longer videos have less ads per minute of content and are therefore not recommended as much, but I couldn’t tell, I started blocking ads on Youtube when they added a second ad banner back in the day - long before video ads were a thing.
Firefox has an addon called “Hide shorts for youtube”. I don’t use any other browser on any device.
I block shorts on youtube, I don’t care for short form content. Give me those hour long analysis type videos. Without shorts youtube still does a rather poor job at recommending new stuff.
That being said, shorts are being more addictive by nature since the barrier of entry to watch ‘one more’ is so low. If you engage with them on any app, you will waste more time on your phone.
Gonna be a long night then if I flip my phone.
Jerboa isn’t even 40% filled in portrait mode.
That’s a fair opinion to have since I believe even Toriyama said as much. However, in the end there is no such thing as a true canon - with the manga, anime and movies there are 3 different canons for Super alone. And personally speaking, they all suck just as much as GT did except for a few of the movies.
GT only has one new transformation and several arcs. In Super, I believe there is no new transformation in the first tournament arc? Unless you count the combination of Kaioken and Blue.
I’m not even using plates. I mostly cook one meal at a time and eat straight from the pot. I’m almost 30.
Clojure. I not only get to use a functional language but also get to use all the libraries written for an actually popular language (Java, or JS for ClojureScript). Altough I’d choose something else if functional programming should ever catch on.
Bravely Default, which is somewhat related to FF, actually has summons like this! Always thought that was a neat idea.
