  • You wont win this one. If you think of the number of internet users in the world once you eliminate apple users, people who do everything on their phone or a tablet, people who use chromebooks but have no idea that its linux, people who “just buy a new one” whenever their laptop/desktop acts up and people who will never touch anything that isnt a prebuilt with a warranty you are left with an abysmally small number of people in the grand scheme. Thats the filters you have to apply before you get to people who might run Linux… and they are all on Lemmy.

  • Ive said many times that AI could be used to enormous human benefit. Its just a huge and unreasonable privacy nightmare to implement. For example, imagine how much better the traffic in major cities could be if lights and speed limits were all controlled by an AI coordinating and tracking every cars by gps. Adjusting speed limits and diversions to maximise flow. Or being able to inform everyone on a highway that there has been an accident ahead immediately and adjust the speed limits accordingly.

If you can cut every cars driving time by 10% it would be the same emissions wise as taking 10% of cars off the road, save millions of man hours in people sitting in traffic… I just have zero faith that the information you could extract wouldnt be abused.

I’m just as critical of Lemmy as I was of Reddit.

Lemmy is a very left leaning echo chamber and a lot of people dont want to hear counterpoints to their soap-box rantings.

I do love Lemmy, but theres a decent percentage of fucking whackadoodles on here too. Also I’m not installing Linux, stop asking.

  • Good Evening Sir, Welcome to Lemmy. We dont do escapism or banter here. Please feel free to enjoy any of our flavours of outrage. The “software privacy” is quite popular, we are quite well known for billionaires and capitalism, of course we do a range of modern outrage classics including American politics, environmental issues and American healthcare which let me assure you isnt just for our American customers.

The specials board currently contains a lovely selection of Shit Israel has done, Shit Musk has done and Companies making money off advertisements hate you blocking advertisements.

Can I start you off with some I dont own games I buy on Steam! or perhaps some advice on why Linux is superior to literally everything.

  • If you want to avoid squishing your junk, I recommend buying some elasticated boxers that are just a LITTLE bit tighter than you would buy for every day wear. Keep your business pulled in close and tight.

As for avoiding workouts… theres a lot to unpack there. The short version is “You have the DNA you have” no amount of a “Bikini body” workout is going to give you tits or a BBL booty and any workout that mentions “Targeted fat loss” is bullshit. Situps do not burn belly fat. Workouts for bodybuilding and workouts for functional strength are different. Workouts for cardio and workouts for conditioning are different.

But what might build a bunch of muscle and functional strength for a 60kg woman might only qualify as a warmup for me, programs written for women will likely be different because (THIS IS NOT SEXISM) men on average carry more muscle as a percentage and less fat. Workouts programmed for women tend to have more cardio and lower weight. Not to say that you couldnt do that workout and hit it with intensity and get results, but its likely to be suboptimal.
