Your link checks out. Your post should have a preview image. If it doesn’t, it might be a problem with lemmy.world indeed, which wouldn’t surprise me on account of the fact that lemmy.world also has issues with previews hosted by my own instance (SDF).

I.e. lemmy.world might have a more general problem with filtering or not handling properly certain images from certain URLs.

The preview won’t show the og:image - which is what the preview image is created with. But the final post will show it. If you want to make sure your final post will have a preview image, use an Open Graph checker to check the URL you’re about to post - for instance, this one.

The problem with tubing is, if the spliced sections are long (or still in rolls), you can’t easily slide the tube off and you have to slice it open after the splice to take it off. One tube, one splice. Talk about wastage.

I don’t have good memories of Gen X, just memories as assholes older than me who judged everyone based on what music they listened to and were absolutely assholes if your music wasn’t cool enough.

And you base your opinion of an entire generation on that?

There are good people and bad people in all generations alike. One day you too will be older, and you’ll be at the receiving end of undeserved criticism for things you’ve never said or done because some young dude met someone else the same age as you they didn’t like.

“Boomers” has been misappropriated by younger generations to mean anything from older people they disagree with, older people they feel have undue privileges they don’t have, or older people who were born before the internet became widespread.

The scapegoating mostly points at gen-X’ers though, not true boomers. The boomers are hitting the retirement homes at this point.

I think I would because I know what it’s like to have a real job and pay my bills with it - as opposed to being born into a rich family or striking it rich because you were the right tech bro at the right time and you got lucky (and you fucked your partners over a little too).

There’s a million interesting social projects I would like to donate to. People and organization who don’t need all that much to do a ton of good around them. I would feel truly happy to donate to them and feel as though I had a net positive impact in my community.

And also, I despise the arrogant tax-evading billionnaire class so much, I don’t think I could live with myself if I realized I had become one of them without realizing some day. Just that thought alone would keep me on my toes every day I think.
