OP is still running 5 containers though? And why does a home server need to implement an IT security standard meant for large organisations? I hope you got an incident response policy written down, would be a shame to fail the next audit.

Technology@lemmy.world•A federal agent said WhatsApp's encryption is a lie. Then the investigation was shut downEnglish
281·11 days agoI don’t particularly know much about this specific topic but, it would be trivial for them to read what’s seen in the app. The encrypted part is only during transfer of a message, your app is still decrypting it to plain texts, and meta can just read the message at that point.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's a scam that's so normalized that we don't even realize it's a scam anymore?
8·13 days agoLoan interests and money I disagree with. Unless we get to a point where everything is in abundance and commerce isn’t needed anymore I feel like a common item we can agree the value of for goods and services is a pretty neat idea.
Similarly I don’t think interest is inherently evil. If i lend you money to buy something large that will take years to pay off, I wouldn’t want to lose a bunch of money with inflation. But predatory rates that bet on you defaulting can burn in hell. It’s disgusting that the whole fintech industry exists purely to maximise interest and debt at the cost of those who depends on those services the most.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What band did you hear one song of, check the rest of their music, and find it was a one-off and none of their other music sounds like that?
2·21 days agoHadn’t heard that one. It’s okay i guess. But there’s plenty more like it in Silver Side Up and The Long Road. Their transition really is peak sellout.

5·1 month agoYeah, in that scenario they gave the agents access. Just because you ask it nicely not to destroy your workspace, doesn’t guarantee an LLM not to produce that output.

2·1 month agoYeah this is unfortunate news for me as well. I have a primary container I use for videos, and then a 10.10 server for music. 10.11 is borderline unusable for music for me, and I’ve tried everything for rescanning to completely redoing the server set up (rip accidentally deleting all my music playlists).
But i shall kill off the 10.10 container and hope a performance fix is in the works.

8·1 month agoI bit of ram, but then I’d imagine you only need some purpose built chip for the connection, input and display logic. Effectively you’d need little more than a chrome cast-like device.

311·2 months agoI agree, the maths argument is not a good one. While a neural network is perhaps closer to what a brain is than just a CPU (or a clock, as it was compared to in he olden days), it would be a very big mistake to equate the two.

7·2 months agoI think what they mean is, with a black box we know the input, documents, and output, yes you can buy beer, but we don’t know the internals. How and for how long is the data stored, who is it shared with, who has access to it, how much meta data can they pull together to build a profile on you and so on.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•PewDiePie Promoting Self-Hosting, Blocking Ads, Shorts and moreEnglish
8·2 months agoAdvertisers don’t want to be viewed next to or adjacent to “problematic” content. Hence no swearing in the first 5 or so minutes in a YouTube video (right after add have played), self censoring words like cunt and suicide so algorithms don’t deprioritise you (again, because platforms make money from ads, so they won’t promote videos that aren’t as friendly).
It’s all in the service to appease advertisers, and they require platforms to roll out the red carpet wherever they tread.
I have a work colleague who does the copy pasting. He asks me how I can tell when he’s using AI to write git commit messages when there’s a sudden spike in capitalised words, correct grammar, emojis, bullet points (and add in that the message sometimes has nothing to do with what’s in the changes). It’s infuriating when he uses it in a discussion. I thought he’s lack in skills to make himself understood was bad, but arguing essentially with a chatbot is so much worse.

Firefox@lemmy.world•Hey @mozilla ... WHY did you removed 'Share All Tabs' from latest mobile version?
192·2 months agoI know this wasn’t a bug fix. But it does sound like quite a niche use case. Does the built in browser sync not work for you, assuming you’re sharing the links between devices?
I’m personally sad they removed the button to open the current page in a non private tab. I use Firefox on mobile almost exclusively in private mode (yay for not collecting 100s of tabs), but sometimes I quickly want to save a tab between sessions without bookmarking it.

But as of now I don’t believe there’s any drop in replacement for discord/teams, but that is not to say you shouldn’t seek out something that is good enough.

And here’s a pretty good article about it https://arstechnica.com/ai/2026/02/sixteen-claude-ai-agents-working-together-created-a-new-c-compiler/
I can believe the 600k number. If i was a maga chump I could be led to believe that’s a premium phone, and getting a “premium” phone for 500 bucks in this day and age is unheard of. Almost like it would be too good to be true.
