Funnily, it’s not THAT new of an idea:

The thing with Copilot is… it’s pretty useless. I mean, i am pro AI, i use Mistral daily for various tasks and toyed with others like ChatGPT and Grok, but Copilot is surely the least capable of the big models.

The thing is: At least in many German circles there is this weird focus on intersectionality, you CAN NOT be left if you are advocating for a stricter immigration / asylum regulation - you will be labeled a Nazi / Fascist or something along the lines.

In 2015 i was very well aboard the “Refugees welcome” train and really thought that the influx of those people would benefit the German society and create a more diverse and open culture. After getting to know some of those asylum seekers, working with some of them and trying to help others to find their way around the German bureaucracy i quickly discovered that, while there are some genuine nice people among them, most hold worldviews that would even an alt-right nationalist nutjob be too conservative. I genuinely witnessed attempts at fraud at an astronomical scale and an absolute disregard for the societal norms. Oh, and there were two attempts to rob me at knifepoint.
Let me just state that i am now in favor of much stricter asylum / immigration laws and i vocally advocate for sending people home who abuse the system and / or going criminal.

Well, 20 years ago i was really, really on the left. I mean, i have read “Das Kapital”, i visited political talks, was a member in “Die Linke” (a very left leaning party in Germany) and often participated in protests.
Over the years while having increased contact to asylum seekers / migrants during the time after 2015 and after getting the opportunity to get to know many of them (i volunteered to help in some projects) i noticed my political views moving step by step more to the right.

I think that is the modern use of the word “Nazi”, best translated with “i don’t like them”

I don’t think you need a targeted campaign for that… give some of the lunatics extremists left leaning lemmy folks only the slightest hint that some service may not pass the purity testing and they will jump on it like a fly on a big pile of shit.
Its simply the old internet: A highly autistic place filled with highly intelligent (or at least, that is what they think of themselves) people with tons of StarTrek, inside jokes and oh so much petty grudges.
As someone who was around at the time of the Usenet and the end if the BBS era I love it, but it is a bit of an acquired taste…

To be honest: If you don’t have the deeper technical knowledge to implement some secure form of forum / BBS or something like that and if you are dependent on the advice from strangers on the net and LLMs AND you are currently living in a nation where something like that may lead to an “accident”… just don’t. A warzone isn’t the right place to learn to fight.

The ENTIRE modern civilization? No. But the western world is surely in decline. If anything, i would place my bets on Asia if i would make a prediction which region will dominate the world in the next 100 - 200 years.

There is no competition in my area, I either have 100 MBit Starlink or… well… I can climb on the next hill to send an Email. Welcome to rural Germany.

In this case i would lose access to Starlink and be confined to the very very shitty internet connection i had before. Sooo… no, his companies can stay.

I honestly would love it…

why would you try to copy windows?
Because you may prove you can? I mean, this is an absolutely valid reason.
