Religion exists because it’s a way to control people you can’t reason with for whatever reason. It’s definitely a net negative now, and has been for centuries imo, but back at the beginning it was an important cornerstone of civilization

Okay, so that is all it is. I feel like that didn’t need an article lol
Two layers of popups before I even see the page is too many, but isn’t the issue resolved? Do they just mean it’ll take time before all the individuals hosts are rolled off the failed update?
But it’s hard to argue that they could exceed the beauty of the thing that they reflect.
Only if you’re looking for objective value of paint on a canvas, or words on a page. What I think is beautiful about art is the way it makes people feel, and the complexity of the human context that allows that. Just this week, a story caused my fiancée to have a breakthrough in her CPTSD therapy. That’s a unique kind of beauty
Artistic expression is inherent to being human. Our creative achievements are part of the beauty of nature. A painting that can make you smile, a story that can make you laugh, a song that can make you cry, that’s all nature, and it is beautiful. If you haven’t found something that speaks to you yet, I hope you’ll keep looking
More than I can afford, unfortunately
Nice try, kid
With the exception of at large buildings in dense city centers, just about everywhere else, utilities enter a building at just some point on the back, out in the open. This includes utilities that feed alarms and security cameras.
While some places will have systems in place for situations where these outside connections have been severed, like independently operated cameras on an intranet, cellular data backup for alarms, electrical generators, etc., most places don’t, so successfully circumventing their security is just a matter of cutting all the cables on the back of their building at the same time, and then being gone before they notice
Patch of ice at an intersection caused me to lose traction just as I was about to go through, which saved me from getting t-boned by a truck running a red light
My Pixel technically has a G on it, but it’s black on dark grey, so you can barely see it
I use light mode on Discord, and just about everything really. I don’t like the feeling of being in a gamer cave. I always have a bunch of lamps on, and light themes too.
Electric kettle to get the water to the proper temperature, and then I just dump it on a tea bag and add tiny bit of cream, depending on the tea. I leave the tea bag in because I like it strong and bitter
Imagine how steep that line would be if the fossil fuel lobbies hadn’t been fighting it tooth and nail all these years
There’s even more than that. There’s a sense that’s specifically where your body parts are in relation to each other. Sense of direction is a very real thing as well. We don’t have the ability to tell if something is wet though. There’s a specific sense that some animals, like platypuses, have. We just have to guess based on information from the other senses we do have
I’d love the Wayfarer’s series to be a collection of short TV shows. They could do like 6 hour long episodes per book. It would great
Liqueurs, not liquors. I don’t buy big name brand liquor (unless you count Plantation rum, or stuff that happens to be owned by Campari).
Liqueurs, because usually generics don’t exist
And Ziploc bags. The quality is worth the extra dollar over the store brand. I might start doing the same for trash bags as well
I was thinking god would respond, but say things like, “Well there’s a reason they call it the ineffable plan,” or “Ugh, this is just like the time I let those humans into my garden. I’ve never heard the end of it,” while I’m trying to solve a crime or something, and I have to try to figure information from the gripes, passive aggressive comments, and opaque metaphors.
Where I live, we have a chain called Cottage Inn, that started on city over. They’re my choice pretty much every time. They’re open late for delivery, and make better pizza than the big chains 100% of the time, plus, since the mega-corps have increased their prices so much over the last couple years, Cottage Inn is basically the same price as well
