Where is that?

Just about every sexually reproducing species that we have extensively studied has had some level of homosexuality pop up.
The more interesting ones are the documented cases of trans individuals. Some fish and reptiles can straight up change genders and be fertile. Birds and mammals have documented cases of females starting to exhibit male characteristics in the absence of a male.
First guy ended up gay. Not that I have an issue with that, it was the lies and using me as a cover for his very religious family that stung.
Second cheated. Also stung
Third was actually a decent guy, I ended things with him because we just weren’t compatible. That also kinda hurt because I didn’t want to hurt him!

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Society is starting to appropriately accommodate neurodivergence, yet stupid/idiot/crazy/lazy etc. stay in the vocabulary.
41·1 month agoOh no, some stupidity is definitely a choice and deserves to be called out as such.
Also, I don’t think insane is always used as scorn. Just a description.

Sea Fever by John Mansfield
I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by;
And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea’s face, and a grey dawn breaking.
I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.
I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull’s way and the whale’s way where the wind’s like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover,
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick’s over.
