I can’t argue against being ethical in media consumption being a waste of time in the sense that the tiny percentage of us that choose to boycott any given platform make no difference. But I think having ideals and following them is worthwhile and I will continue to do so.

But I was also sincere in my statement that I don’t think you (or anyone) has to share that concern. Those are my ideals. They don’t have to be yours and I don’t expect that of anyone.

This particular capitalist is having a significant impact on that platform.

If that doesn’t concern you (and it doesn’t have to) then carry on with giving no shits.

Well said. It’s easy enough to say you are unhappy with pay, benefits, or working conditions. Complain about the plights of capitalism. Or say you just don’t want to work, period.

There’s a mountain in between here and there. And the path is well defended by the rich and powerful. It’s going to take a lot of work to have less work.

Beehaw is my home in the fediverse, and I’m happy here. I like that they try to maintain a positive community. But if Beehaw left the fediverse, I wouldn’t come along. Which is a change from thinking I might last time I saw this topic come up.

If beehaw ends up in a silo I think it will just have too little to offer for me. And that’s ok. This isn’t about me, it’s about creating a safe space for your disenfranchised users.

I hope Beehaw stays, but I understand if they don’t.

2. Never used either. I created a Mastodon account somewhere once upon a time but never used it.
3. My friends use Discord, and aren’t interested in moving. So I use it.
4. I don’t post or comment on YouTube, but I do follow a handful of people. Not signed in, just using rss feeds.

I saw a rumor mill style post that Apple was going to allow sideloading of apps. If so, that’ll probably get me to switch. These changes and choice in software eliminates my gripes with iOS vs. Android.

As a point of clarity, I think both suck. But if Apple removes it’s disadvantages (even if by force) and is the more privacy respecting option out of the box, it makes sense to me.

I see myself as reasonably progressive and cultured. So I take no pride in admitting that dumb cgi action movies and scantily clad women are motivators to watch a movie, but they are so I looked this up. And wow it looks so bad, just the poster art alone.

The one for my city. Because of the small userbase and communities not spanning instances, I don’t see this changing and I accept that.

Nothing else specific comes to mind. I like nerdy tech stuff, there’s a lot of that here. But more variety of things outside that realm would be nice.

I regetfully disagree. I think very few people will leave the platform and that the additional revenue generated from those that use adblockers but allow YouTube ads will easily cover the difference of those that do.

Looking back on it, she was a pretty one dimensional love interest. But teenager me didn’t see that. I was attached to this character. I cared. And she died. Not something I expected from a game, and it wrecked me a bit.

Maybe I’m just not discerning enough (entirely possible) but I was content with his voice acting in the game. Generally not wowed by it though, I’ll admit.

Yeah, I played a little bit earlier today. I’d like to say that the dated looking graphics and poor ui aren’t things I care about, but apparently I do a bit. Still, I’ll give it a little more time. I do like the premise.

In my very limited (a couple of weeks) experience there, it’s not that bad… except for when it is.

For smaller roads, traffic will kind of go around you as long as you keep a steady pace. For bigger roads, that’s not feasible and it never really stops. I had to wait… I don’t know maybe 10 minutes to cross a road like that once.
