I’ve been playing only retro games lately and I just finished Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for a second time yesterday. Now I’m continuing playing the Fatal Frame saga on my ps2.

21·3 months agoSo they can gather more followers for their atrocious ideology of the echo chambers that are Bluesky and Mastodon
Yeah, me neither. Maybe because it wasn’t a post perse but a modification of the main page that they modified again? I don’t know if github saves previous states of a modified page.
Oh, were they able to resolve the legal issue they had with the Spotify API? Really glad to hear that.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Can Visa and MasterCard be sued for this censorship debacle?English
3·5 months agoFor my part, I have seen several people highlight the role of Collective Shout in the whole mess (at least in Spanish-speaking sites). But you’re right, in situations like this, fire is fought with fire.

6·5 months agoSo no private company can be held accountable for censorship? That’s pretty messed up.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•You are born 250,000 years ago, one of the very first modern humans to roam the earth. What's on your to-do list?
2·6 months agoGo with the gatherers, fuck the hunters, it better be someone else who ends up eaten by Saber-Toothed Tigers.
I abhor violence, both witnessing and exercising it, but I accept and support it if it is used as a form of defense against abuse, whether systematic or personal.
In short: I personally would not set fire to an ICE vehicle, but I would applaud anyone who did.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do you believe that most people act according to their own self-interest? Is acting only according to your self-interest a good strategy in life?
1·7 months agoAnother point is that if all people just act for their own self-interest, they will have a better life themselves, and if everyone does the same, some sort of proper balance will be achieved.
Hmmm, I don’t know… I think that kind of “balance” you talk about is obtained rather at that middle point between the individual and the collective interest.
I think we all act to a greater or lesser extent according to our interests, the problem I see is that we have this idea that life is a zero-sum game, where others must fail for one to succeed, that’s where the conflict comes from, because not everyone can win, there are more losers than winners. A cure for this mentality, I believe, is precisely to think about the collective interest understanding it as “what benefits my community also benefits me”, it is to achieve individual benefit through collective work and cooperation, if everyone wins I also win.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•If someone said “humans suck, but nature is a perfectly beautiful creation 😍” what examples would you think of that show nature being (1) independent of humans and (2) brutal and grotesque?
2·7 months agoAny documentary that talks about the life of insects and smaller animals is a horror film.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Have you ever said something so incorrect or irrelevent nobody corrected you?
19·7 months agoIn a presentation the professor asked me a question that, thinking about it today, I answered incorrectly, but I did it with such conviction, even after the professor questioned me again, that in the end he left me alone, gave me a good grade and even some classmates asked me advice.
Moral of the story: confidence is stronger than the truth. If you see someone very confident in what they say, it doesn’t necessarily mean they are telling The Truth.
