Ive been programming as a hobby before I got a degree in game programming last year. I applied to as many companies as I could, for 6 months, before my funds ran dry. I was forced to go back to min wage.
I’ve seen people program, and I’ve seen people “program”. People who “program” do it 10 times faster than someone who takes the time to solve the problem and build a modular solution that scales.
Who is the company going to hire, the person who fixes it fastest, or the person who fixes it right?

Not exactly. There is a web-based game called GeoGuesser, where users are given a picture and guess where the picture was taken on a map. You get a higher score the closer you get.
One player I follow called GeoWizard makes YouTube videos of his games, as well as challenges himself to find locations of fan photos and such. Your situation sounds like the ladder. :D
On a different note, he also takes on real life challenges, such as crossing European countries in a (nearly) straight line, or traveling as far as he can with just 10 pounds in his pocket. Recommend checking out a series if you’ve got time.

Humans have not yet reached a point in the entire history where they are deemed worthy of being part of.
If there is a point in the future where there is acceptance of all, fairness for all, and peace among all, then I would say yes.
That version of human will have the ultimate freedom.
Do I have knowledge of when I will be born? And am I aware of the high and lows of the era?
Do I get a vision of my entire life, or do I just have to choose on a whim?
Can low water pressure in the whole house be attributed to a bad water heater?

I was told people who swear sounded less intelligent. It made me not want to do it. I swear rarely, usually if I’m quoting someone. I swear a little more liberally in text, but not very often.
On the contrary, the pay would be more than enough for me (single and alone) but actually getting the job is the hard part.
Genuine opinion: Who cares?
Who cares if what we enjoy is changing, at all. It’s kinda like if you go to a bowling alley, to go bowling. Do you show up and decide to bowl if there’s other people bowling or not? I’m gonna go bowling regardless, that’s why I went to the bowling alley.
