Austria too!
Austria too!
The apostrophe is feet, right? That’s shallower than I thought.
I don’t have any useful advice for getting them back to sleep on top of the other comments, but for the sanity side of things we found that for us, taking turns was the only way back to sanity.
If you have the option of a couch or a 2nd bed, either you or your partner can sleep there whenever limits are reached. We introduced limited bottle feeds to make this possible at this stage.
A day or two of proper sleep can change lives at this stage.
Out of curiosity, do you know how deep your bore ended up being?
We’re not there yet. To me the obvious would be to explain to them something like browsing the internet is similar to being alone in the world’s biggest city and you cannot always be there to protect them whilst online?
I am definitely over simplifying it, but I feel portraying the message that there are good people, bad people and absolutely abhorrent people, is all you can do to protect kids online. Also that everyone takes a big step to the dark side when they are anonymous because for some reason, watching a train crash is more interesting to us that watching one drive past.
I never really thought about controlling screen times for anything other than to make sure kids’ heads spend some time in reality, do you feel it is an effective or important tool for protection too?
Does it say that in the article? I don’t understand who this person is or why this discredits everything that Reuters as a news provider does.
No idea about this dude, but literally in the article you link, they reference Zenz as an independent researcher who says:
“Although it is speculative…”
Before providing his estimate and also provides other details which appear to support the story, but the article does not present as clear, hard “facts”. Also, the title isn’t some clickbait trash, and even directly says “could”.
I can recommend Reuters, given it still has a little bit of sports and opinion, but I find it’s good at providing neutral facts and sources it’s knowledge from appropriate experts for its opinion pieces.
It only lacks in providing local level news, where I turn to my country’s national broadcaster.
Your post history is outrageously dramatic. I would advise you to find a healthy hobby or two, preferably away from the internet.
I would add that to use these stores it is HELPFUL (not mandatory) to understand what they are presenting.
F-Droid is a store for open source software, normally maintained (or not) by teams of passionate people or volunteers.
Aurora store is a mask over the Google play store, which can use an anonymous account to download files from the Google play store. The Aurora store may not be ideal of you are working with paid apps, but it is worth reading up before you blindly jump in here.
There is also the !privacy@lemmy.world or !privacy@lemmy.ml groups which can help if you want to de-google.
I do not understand why German mobile data is so heinously expensive!
E.g. in Austria https://www.hot.at/tarife.html
No an overly helpful suggestion maybe, but I used to look for servers hosting the cars service manual whenever I had issues. But that was in the early 2010s, so not sure where to look for them now.
We had this at one point too. Turns out they weren’t hungry, so we changed such that the food is there but they choose whether they want to eat. Instead of eating they could bring a piece of paper and do drawing or tell us about their day for a bit while we sit together.
It worked well as it was a lot calmer and the transition to bed wasn’t as big an hour or so later.
Not saying it will work for you, but it helped us.
I like the first half of your comment, but the second is really hard to swallow. I guess you meant “severe” or “debilitatingly” painful/disabled life, and I don’t think you meant malice in what you’re saying - but I know some people living with disabilities that would see your comment as calling them worthless.
India is a world leader when countries are ranked by population. It’s time will come, as the middle class grows and imports from other nations increase, but that is not happening in the next 5 years in my opinion.
India’s inability to remove the caste system leads IMHO to an equivalent of middle eastern country’s inability to allow women a meaningful place in their society, and is a massive hindrance to reaching its potential socially and economically.
On the positive side, absolutely has the best cuisine in the world
I would agree, but I would not want to sleep with them on as OP requested.
Are you talking about a pure socialist country, or socialist aspects within any system?
You caused the sub prime mortgage crisis by saying you could play the goo goo dolls?!
12 meteors, 8 volcanoes and 10 tornadoes incoming you say?
No, it’s worse than that. Putin attended a wedding (in 2018, 5 months post Crimea annexation) of the then foreign minister [link].
They dissolved their government in 2019 after the then leader of the FPÖ told a journalist pretending to be a relative of an oligarch, that she could ensure positive coverage in exchange for government contracts. This might not be a direct link to a foreign enemy, but the corruption runs deep. [Link]
A senior quasi-secret service officer was discovered by the British to have been a spy for at least 7 years before he was apprehended. He was (cheaply) selling state secrets and providing information to the Russians… [link.]
You’ve got to love them 🇦🇹
