For many people work is 100% of their social network besides their family. They have an unfulfilled basic need that gets bottled up and so gets expressed in unhealthy ways. My boss, who is the only one I hear weird shit like this from, has explicitly told me that he doesn’t have any friends and hasn’t for years. I feel sort of bad for him but then he says shit like gen z is beta and the feeling goes away.
The most alarming thing would be self-harm stuff. The most interesting thing was working on a painting. When I got to the edge of the canvas, I started incorporating objects from around my room to extend the design. By the time I started coming down from the shrooms, the floor was wall to wall covered with objects arranged in an elaborate swirling pattern emanating out from a painting of a woman screaming with rage.
