People won’t care until negative things start effecting them. Even at that point, many will still deny negative things are happening or they will put the blame somewhere else. This is why I believe things are going to have to get bad, really bad, before they can turn around. The biggest thing to go bad would be the economy. An economy so bad would be hard to deny and live with. Unfortunately, the more money you have, the longer you can “deal with” a bad economy, and still think everything is okay.

So often, the thing that is easy to measure is seen as important. In this case, the amount said is easy to measure. The quality of what is said is not easy to measure, but more important.

Religions… All of them.

Project yourself 20 years into the future. Imagine yourself saying this to present day you. Then act on that advice. Much of these suggestions can apply to anyone at almost any age.

The ending of SOMA. I sometimes watch it on youtube just to enjoy it again. Note: the ending won’t mean anything to you if you don’t already know the story.

Yes. You listen to music without knowing anything about who wrote it and you feel something. That feeling has nothing to do with the composer or performer. Now if you find out the composer/performer is a “bad” person, I would recommend not giving them any money that could contribute to them spreading their “bad stuff”. I’d still enjoy the music because your enjoyment isn’t furthering their bad agenda.

Lobbying and lobbyist groups.

The people with money will spend to develop better AI and use that AI to make more money. Thus capitalism will keep growing.

I’ve stopped using Reddit unless it comes up in a search for something I am looking for. At that point, I just read that one post and replies to find what I am looking for.

We often forget that sites like Reddit and Facebook could completely be shut down if people stopped using them. The people provide the content for those sites. Those sites need us, but we don’t need them!

I would consider my life “well-lived” if I die with no regrets.

When marking something to copy and paste. You start marking the text and drag to the right. If you drag too far to the right, your highlighting goes away and everything to the left of where you started becomes highlighted. Why would anybody ever want that behaviour? It is exactly the opposite of what you are trying to do.

When you have a web page with only an input box. You can’t do anything else on that page except input into the box and yet the cursor isn’t automatically placed in the box! You have to put it there first.

I want to be happy.

“Think harder.” You are already thinking, trying to come up with an answer and aren’t able to. What does “think harder” even mean?
