And you can use Libby to get eBooks from the Library. You can send them directly to an eReader. I personally just get a copy with DRM and de-DRM it before copying it to my Kobo using Calibre.
I fuck numbers.

He had an argument with my then girlfriend, and stopped talking to me for whatever reason. We never had any issues or arguments, but he simply won’t reply to me or return my calls. After a while, I gave up. We had been friends for about 7 years at that point.
On that note, Paris, Texas is a great movie.
I’m the mod. It’s partially my fault since I’ve never really done anything to promote it. I’d love for others to join the mod team if they have more experience with this stuff.

Oklahoma City. It’s just a worse version of Dallas.
One of my closest friends tried attempted suicide last year. The first thing obviously was to make sure he survived. We don’t live in the same city, so that was a very long and stressful day for me. Fortunately, we have mutual friends who I could reach. (I was the only one he texted before the attempt.)
Anyway, after he was well, I never really pressured him to talk about it. I, and others, convinced him to talk to a therapist. After I believe a week or so, he just randomly opened up and we talked for hours. This happened a few times. But I always tried to not pressure him into opening up, and kept our friendly banter and everything. I never wanted him to feel that something between us changed because he tried to take that route. I’ll still call him names and roast him, and he’ll clap back. That’s just our dynamic. I think people often overcompensate, and end up making things worse.
That paragraph turned out to be much less structured than I had hoped. It’s just hard to put into words what to do. I guess, just try to be a good friend. Whatever that means for you. Be there for them. Talk to them. Don’t pressure or guilt them into doing anything. Don’t guilt yourself into behaving differently. Be compassionate if they do open up, but don’t force them. Just be like you usually are, grab a drink maybe, and have a good time with them.
“Let everything happen to you
Beauty and terror
Just keep going
No feeling is final.”
– Rainer Maria Rilke
This was used at the end of the movie Jojo Rabbit (one of my favorite movies btw). I often remember this line when I feel like everything is going wrong. It helps me hold on to hope.
Raw chickpeas. The small, black kind. I soak them overnight in cold water, and have them for breakfast along with a shot of espresso.
I got it from my dad. He used to have them with tea.
Better Call Saul. I find it so amazing how they were able to take an existing (brilliant in its own right) story, and extend it in both past and the future. It fits in so nicely. There are very few (if any) plot holes, and the story is enjoyable in its own right. Add to that the superb acting of almost everyone, and the elite cinematography. I don’t think there’s a single aspect of this show that I don’t like.
Never have I ever failed an exam.
I don’t get scared easily, but Kothanodi had me watching through my fingers. It has four vaguely connected stories, and two of them are very fucked up. There’s a decent amount of infanticide and other atrocities inflicted on minors, so be warned if you have any childhood trauma.
Also by the same director, the movie Aamis is about cannibalism acting as a replacement for sex. It’s pretty fucked up as well.
Try to get some prescription painkillers, ideally opioids. None of the over-the-counter stuff even comes close. Tramadol helped me manage pain after my surgery.
I’ve heard about Typst, never really tried it. I don’t think I’ll completely be able to switch anytime soon since no journal accepts it afaik. But maybe I can try it out for personal stuff.
I understand using it for collaboration. But I see people write their homework in it. They’re not collaborating with anyone.
Also, these people use it all the time. I understand using Overleaf if you only use LaTeX rarely, since you don’t need to set anything up.
I personally edit offline, and copy to Overleaf if I need to collaborate.
I’m surprised by how many people use Overleaf for writing LaTeX instead of installing something locally. It’s not that hard, guys. And the experience can be infinitely better as you can actually customize it however you want.
I live in a medium sized US city, and even here, StarBucks is pretty much the bottom of the barrel. Where do you live that StarBucks is the best?
Edit: Not throwing shade, genuinely curious. I had this situation in my hometown. But India is a tea-centric culture, so it’s understandable.
