There was only one, there are more seats than just the president up for vote on election day.

I don’t think there’s any contradiction there, though. The Dems aren’t rioting because they accept legitimate outcomes, while the Republicans are only accepting favorable outcomes. No one is rioting right now because the Dems accept Trump’s win as legitimate and the Republicans accept it as favorable.
Star Trek says that we shouldn’t expect World War 3 until 2026, so we’ve got 1 more year to live to the fullest before then.
0, and happy to keep it that way.
They’re aristocatic.
Chance he runs for vice president and wins, with the presidential candidate promising to resign promptly, and is betrayed: 10%
For this one, it also depends on how the Supreme Court rules on the 12th amendment. That amendment states that anyone who is unqualified to be president is likewise unqualified to be vice president, but there is some uncertainty as to whether or not it only applies to people unqualified to be president or if it includes people unqualified to run as president.
I’d say 90% chance the conservative-stacked Supreme Court side with Trump because the conservative justices are originalists and the 12th’s interaction with the 22nd was not intended when the 12th was written, but 10% chance they decide he’s unqualified to be Vice President so as to keep the door closed for Dems who might try the same thing.
What ways have you used to bypass YouTube’s echo chamber format?
Easy, I barely use YouTube at all anymore.
When I do use it, it’s for specific videos. I never use it for content discovery.
I’ve seen it from time to time, and after the initial “…Why…?” it had me wondering if it was trying to be some sort of Lemmy counterculture. Parody makes more sense, but if it’s sincere I just sort of feel bad.
Of course, there must always be tribalism.
AAA game development has gotten significantly more costly and time consuming, to the point where it is now basically unsustainable and headed for imminent collapse.
For the Dark Souls example, though, I think it’s important to note that FromSoft still produced Sekiro in between Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring, leaving only a 3-year gap for Elden Ring to come out. Not to mention that the time between Demon Souls to Elden Ring is still less than the time gap between Skyrim and Elder Scrolls 6, so it’s also orders of magnitude of difference.
If it’s not out within the next 4 years, it will officially be the case that more time has passed between Elder Scrolls 5 and 6 than Elder Scrolls 1 through 5.
17 years between Arena and Skyrim compared to 13 years so far since Skyrim’s release in 2011 (and counting, almost up to 14 years if counting from calendar year alone).
When Skyrim came out, Bethesda promised free new Bethesda games for life to parents of kids born on 11/11/11 who named their child Dovahkiin. Young Dovahkiin is almost in high school now, and of the promised free games, their parents have earned a whopping:
Hope it was worth it.
Lemmy.ml does censor a lot of profanity, but other than that it doesn’t seem any more or less overtly heavyhanded on censorship than other instances.
That being said, I suppose self-censorship among the community is another factor to consider as well, as I’ve seen a lot of instances purge their own versions of wrongthink depending on which mod is on a power trip.
I’m just going to say Nightcore.
I get that Nightcore has an audience, but what makes it annoying for me is when I am trying to search for an obscure song and think I’ve found it, only to realize that it’s yet another low-effort nightcore remix.
To be honest, the UHC CEO was probably responsible for more loss of life than Al-Qaeda was.
Not the optional hardware survey, but they automatically collect other data just through usage of Steam and applications run through Steam.
They just get statistical data instead, then. I know some folks don’t care about companies knowing your activity and other telemetry data, but I’d probably still count that within the “bullshit around” exclusion criteria that OP defined.
It’s not so much people being worried about wasting it, as much as they’re worried about paying someone to continue fueling spirals of addiction. People can be homeless due to any number of different factors, so I hate to assume someone’s circumstances, but it’s impossible to know when giving cash is helping or making things worse.
My place of work is a nonprofit that coordinates with a variety of local social services, so I donate to those causes each year instead and help others connect to the resources they offer when I can.
People who are very good at instruments. I wish I just knew guitar to shred on demand, but I just could not put in the time and effort to get there myself.
It’s truth, though. I don’t like it either, but we know the popular vote is currently meaningless. I’ll champion any cause that wants to change that, but there’s zero chance of that happening while the GOP controls the house, the senate, the courts, and the presidency.
