Oh, and I just read your username. We’ve played the White Oak Music Hall if your name is a reference to Houston. Used to play Acadia back when it was open.

Oh trivia is great as well! There are a few other things depending on inclination. Some of the local joints here do paint and sip, line dancing, salsa dancing, wine pairing potlucks, and a bunch of other activities. If you add in breweries or distilleries you can find even more stuff.
But I say that knowing bars aren’t for everyone for a variety of reasons. Not every area has breweries and distilleries.
And yeah, karaoke is a different level of outgoing. I enjoy it in small doses and will fill in as the KDJ if someone needs me to, but doing that every week (or 3 times a week like some of these folks) is a bit much for me, and that’s coming from a dude who has a hobby of playing music in bars.
I do like local live music shows for that if you’re into local music, especially if you hit up the same venue every week for a bit. You’ll meet the other regulars.
A buddy of mine goes to karaoke every week, rain or shine. He moved to a new place a few years ago and within a couple of months he already had a group that he could hang out with elsewhere.
A big city not in the South. Houston and Dallas are #4 and #9. There’s public transit but it fucking sucks both places.
My childhood buddy lost half his teeth that way.
Hear me out. Have you tried them grilled in garlic butter with a little sprinkle of parmesan?
If it’s not for you then you won’t get any hate from me. I just wanted to throw that out there.
I can’t speak to crocodile, but I have eaten a lot of gator. If it’s not prepared properly it goes from tasting like water chicken to tasting like swamp thang.
I’m pretty ok at knapping flint and I’m not a terrible hunter. I’m also usually in poor health.
So I’d probably die as a baby.
But not simultaneously.

Vote now.
There used to be a company that sold grind plates you could add to your shoes but it looks like their website is defunct.
I have a bunch of hobbies but the two that I’m currently concentrating on are building guitars and working on motorcycles.
There are plenty of people who build or customize guitars for a living. I have sold exactly one that I built from scratch and that was probably 15 years ago.
I’m resurrecting a barn find motorcycle that I’ll sell (or I’ll sell one of mine to keep this, I haven’t decided), but I’m not going to make any money on it because it’s not sought after. I’m doing it for love. I’ll break even.
That would be a nightmare for tattoo shops.
(For those that don’t know, many tattoo shops have Friday 13th deals with specific flash you can get for multiples of $13 depending on complexity. The quality ones have new cute Friday 13th flash a couple of times a year and lines around the block.)
Also USA. My teachers ran the gamut from not letting anyone to treating us like adults. My school was VERY white with only a handful of black kids across all of high school. One of the teachers was well known for never letting the black kids go until one of them went and peed in his trash can to prove a point.
The ones who treated us like adults got treated with the most respect. Weird how that works.
Weird how all these companies are universally hated but insist people don’t switch because they’re awesome.
Didn’t Comcast change their consumer name to Xfinity because they were so universally hated? CenturyLink comes in at the top of a lot of the “most hated” lists as well. They own what used to be Level 3 who, shockingly, were also pretty much hated by everyone who had to use them.
Mine is the chain style. I cannot compare as I have never used the braided wire and I don’t have to think about weight savings that much. I don’t generally hike far to a camping spot.
Instead of a curved folding saw I prefer a rope saw. I’ve always been able to take down limbs and trees faster.
For those that don’t know what that is, imagine a chainsaw chain with handles on either end.
I did this briefly years ago for a hotel chain (the booking, not the stealing). We got an extra quarter for everyone we transferred to another department for deals or some shit. We were supposed to ask people if they would like to hear about it but I found out that as long as it transferred they could immediately hang up and I still got my bonus. After that every caller I had got transferred to the other department for the rest of the time I worked there.
I made an extra few hundred bucks and got canned about the same time I found a job in my field. No FBI involved, though.
I didn’t even know these sorts of mini racks existed. now I’m going to have to get one for all my half sized preamps if they’ll fit. That would solve like half the problems with my studio room and may help bring back some of my spark for making music.
I have no recs. Just want to say I’m so excited to see this. I can probably build an audio patch panel.
