I like Darktable but found RawTherapee to be more usable. For me Darktable 4 was way too many clicks for what should be a one click - everywhere. But it is very powerful. Just the ui gave me headache

I don’t have time to break down al his lies. Willymac does a decent job:
His class shouldn’t matter ultimately.
However, his superficial and putrid understanding of anything regarding politics or the world in infuriating. At one point he was simping hard for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine repeating verbatim rt talking points.
I loathe this man more than I hate Joe Rogan. Joe is an imbecile, through and through. Hasan, on the other hand, supposedly has a poli Sci degree. He knows what he’s doing and it’s disgusting
Edit : I don’t have time to go into every fact check of the mountain of lies he spews. The guy has never opened a book in his life and spends all day reading Twitter. Some great intellectual.
Willymac does a good breakdown on yt:
Ukrainians react to Hasan (yt) :
He’s such a joke
Are they still around though? I think they filed for bankruptcy. The jeezus wannabe ceo was a good con artist.
Usually when discussing a heated topic (politics, gun control-take your pick) and trying to discuss the facts of the matter in a neutral manner but the response comes back with every phrase super charged with morally loaded words. Examples of a conversation I had recently (emphasis mine):
sure as hell isn’t PANDERING! What the fuck is wrong with you??
Typical apologist tactic
PRETENDING to care about the brutal slaughter of tens of thousands of innocent civilians
deflecting to your conspiracy theory
shows that YOU don’t care enough about Palestinian lives
It’s very pronounced on this site for some reason. I don’t know why.
Yea, I agree. That’s why I used the word discuss because when the debate-bro mindset kicks in you’re definitely dealing with an angsty teenager (also the constant invocation of logical fallacies).
Me too. But in my view they are not fully developed adults and still have some emotional intelligence left to grow.
For me personally the first tell is when they are morally loading every statement in an argument and are unable to engage with a topic directly. Adults should be able to discuss or debate certain topics on the value of the arguments alone without feeling pressured to include a declarative virtue signal in every clause.

Eh. Sort of. It’s still a big echo chamber with lots of feel good statements that amount to not much

That chorus is a banger
As a fan of Dune 2 I appreciate your review. I think it’s a fair criticism
It was a big hit when it came out, I remember that (I’m not sure why it made such a big splash). I also remember walking out and feeling underwhelmed because it was so hyped up (I was also 10 years younger). I’ve since become more familiar with Paul Thomas Anderson’s work and have a better understanding now. I can tell you, There Will Be Blood is a masterclass in production and storytelling. But I also understand it’s not very appealing narrative and may turn many off.
Is that a blockbuster though? PTA movies are more on the art house side in my opinion
I have not yet. I would like to though
I added it through Firefox extensions. I can upload a screenshot if it’s helpful.
I was curious so I added it and now Wikipedia is full of ads. No like.
I think the issue for me is twofold: a) I couldn’t connect with the characters-they felt like Asimov plot devices for carrying the story forward and b) too much emphasis on the time traveling paradox riddle. What I mean by the latter was that watching the movie felt more like trying to solve a Rubik’s cube but through charts and diagrams. I get that some people enjoy that kind of stuff but I prefer having a solid story line. But I watched it a long time ago, maybe I need to rewatch it with fresh eyes.
Marvelous Miss Maisle is solid from om beginning to end. Not a minute, scene or note is wasted. The writers know how to pack every scene with as much energy and storytelling as possible. Just perfect.
