Sadly not everywhere. On mobile it lacks behind. Even more on video content and low power cpus.
Chromium is slightly better in a way where I could clic on the video buttons without lag : On my android TV, (sideloaded) Firefox had issues with video buttons. So I tried using kiwi browser (for the extension support), and it worked well for buttons. The video wasn’t a lot smoother, but it just seemed maybe just slightly better.
I don’t use it because of mobile adblock only. There are multiple private chromium browsers which have mobile adblock, and also one supporting extensions : kiwi browser.
I use Firefox because it’s a competing engine to chromium, and it looks good.
I also have all the synced bookmarks from my PC Firefox, which I use for the same reason, and because I got used to it.
Being grateful to a free service is a bit hard when a lot of those services use scummy marketing tactics…
There are some interesting, others well, maybe their free services are useful, but their tactics do not align and so it’s difficult to want to support them just because I could. (mostly vpns have real trash marketing). I’d rather donate more to a charity.
There are services open source or free closed source which are in need of donations.
VPNs do Not need your gratitude. The cost of running a VPN per user is extremely low (just look at the market prices to subscribe to a vpn). Even less for a for profit company. For vpn I would use one offering the best services for the needs at lower cost.
Making a donation to an open source or free service (which doesn’t try to scam you, or get your wallet) would require more effort, but bring more satisfaction because it would keep that open source useful project afloat.
Tho if you like a service and you need more from it, do pay for it. I’m not saying you shouldn’t.
Wtf is this stupid trash article about outsourcing to Jews controlling everything.
Don’t loose your time with this.
It’s peace of trash article. Just down vote the post.
It’d the nvidia x panel or whatever. It’s pretty empty compared to windows.
Isn’t there a color setting in gnome settings?
I don’t remember exactly where. Maybe this can help https://help.gnome.org/users/gnome-help/stable/color.html.en
p7zip doesn’t seem to be maintained anymore, 2016 seems to be last update (direct link to source forge from the 7zip website).
However a direct official cli port seems to have been created. Not sure if it can be installed through a repo, or if it has to be downloaded from the 7zip website.
I saw some older threads saying it wasn’t maintained anymore
Isn’t there a command line 7zip for Linux + custom gui for it, or from another compression manager software?
Because you don’t wash them in a good way lol
Or because you have the worst clothes ever.
When you wash clothes look for the instructions at which temperature you need to wash them. If you can put them in a drier…
Dont let clothes dry in a dryer machine, only let them a bit, then let them dry on a drying rack or whatever it’s called. Careful with clothes which aren’t rated to go into the drier, use low temperature, and never let them a long time if you put them in a dryer machine.
If they seem chemical, or have a bad smell, check if the washing machine washes well, or use another program to wash them more, or a short program to wash them again, only with water.
Maybe try another detergent, or put less of it.
Also, if as other comments said, if you use a softener, try without.
Bitwarden is very good. And it is not getting hacked every year as Lastpass… (another free password manager).
I also saw that proton has launched proton pass as a password manager. Seems to also be free, but only the app, I think is open source, and not the server. It also works less well than bitwarden, being new it can be expected.
Equalizer APO + Peace equalizer (as the interface) + AutoEq (for the automatic equalization).
It allows to change do advanced and automatic equalization on audio devices, being audio outputs or inputs as mics.
AutoEq is the automatic part. It is more focused on Headphones/earbuds/iems presets. It’s an automatic tool trying to equalize measured (by a compatible reviewer source, which is already in the database) headset to match the target the user wants, Then export a file for the software someone uses (peace for example).
As a common preset, the harman over-ear 2018/in-ear (depending on the device) is pretty good, but other presets are available too.
MPC-HC https://github.com/clsid2/mpc-hc (the still maintained one).
For me VLC struggled on very high bitrate videos. While MPC-HC was smooth and used less resources.
However it is not available for Linux. So if it’s a software for Linux, I guess VLC is the best choice.
MPC-HC instead of VLC https://github.com/clsid2/mpc-hc (the still maintained one) (windows only)
For me VLC had issues to stream very high bitrate content on my pc. MPC-HC used less resources while being smooth too.
At one point I was searching for a way to compress pictures in bulk while still conserving their readability, and I found this app, photo compressor and Resizer. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.photocompress.photoeditor
It has many downloads, but just in case (because it doesn’t need it) I disabled Internet access to the app.
The size reduction is huge while still keeping a lot of the quality (it is also possible to chose a target size).
By default, the picture looks like it was taken with an older device with lower quality. However it still looks good enough. Not sure how to describe it.
On a picture of my car, it went from 4.8mB to 428kB. I can see most of the useful detail and identify most of elements in the picture. However some individual leafs or reliefs on some berries in the background or side are harder to see, or lost.
For the rest you can also put the pictures on a specific hosting website, and then just paste a link.
Here is a video comparing Nobara and Fedora. Not sure if it would be very helpful, but it may show what Nobara is changing. https://youtu.be/5eKSQT5mV-c
Also 3 months ago, so maybe some elements have changed slightly.
On Linux you’re not stuck on a single theme. On gnome there is a plethora of extensions allowing to move the task bar as you want. Display the apps on it or not… And plenty more customization.
Gnome has however limited a lot the theming of the desktop (window color, border…). And now it’s a bit clunky to install themes other than the default ones.
KDE has more customizations and settings, so much that it could be overwhelming at first.
There are also some differences with the file manager. I prefer Nautilus from Gnome (you can still install it on kde, tho it won’t have the same look as the other apps).
And the KDE disk manager may as well be trash in my hands. I can’t even setup a mount at boot without getting errors. So I just install Gnome Disks as I find it pretty easy to use.
on Linux if you have multiple partitions, and you want to set a shortcut to a secondary partition, you need to mount the partition (activate it). In Linux a partition is like a folder. It is mounted to a folder.
I may have learned things about tech and computers on reddit, but I don’t remember the posts, only the knowledge.
Also I learned that redditors in the comments are 75-90% stupid and useless in any post. I sometimes had to answer tech related posts just because the other answers were completely wrong and did not help the OP.
Tho sometimes there was some useful info. But only sometimes…
If Google didn’t remove it from their browser… Not sure in how much time, if ever, jpeg xl would become popular.
