I’ve got both a fire extinguisher and a fire blanket, and I’ve only ever needed the blanket so far. $26 for a 5’ square fiberglass blanket that did the trick immediately the first time it was needed.
If it’s a real extinguisher, can’t you just have it recharged and reuse it?
Yes, as stated below that includes property taxes and insurance, things that this person likely isn’t thinking about and isn’t figuring into their monthly payment. I hope I’m wrong, but I’ve watched friends crash and burn doing something similar.

If you’re looking at 300k @ 8%, youre not going to be paying anything similar to your current rent. I got a place for 190k @ 6%, and I’m paying about 200/mo less for my mortgage than you do for rent. At that rate, I’d be surprised if you got out under 2500/mo.
Agreed. I found my current gig on LinkedIn and got like an 80% raise a few years ago. I stay off it unless I need to go job hunting, and I have no complaints, but I treat it just like facebook and ignore the feed/random bullshit pushed to me.
I’ve got a couple of Amcrest cameras, which hook into a Home Assistant/Frigate/Double Take/CompreFace stack right now and it works really well to see my cameras offsite (HA). Add in the fact that I’ve got an NVR for looking over recent footage (Frigate) and facial recognition (still in training, just setup Double Take and CompreFace a few weeks ago) which can be configured to alert (HA) my phone, its a pretty sweet setup!
Do you actively use OneDrive? Sounds like it has a pesistence mechanism to help out less techie people so they don’t lose access to it (as an IT guy, I’ve seen that more often than I can count), so it may be better to disable the program rather than fighting OneDrive.
Out of curiosity, what settings are you seeing revert that quickly? That sounds like somehow you’ve got intune or something configured, and its periodically running a config resync.
A smaller company means smaller salary and bigger potential to have to fill in the cracks as management decides to not backfill.
I moved from a 10 person map to a hundreds of employees map/hosting provider and doubled my pay for minimal extra work. My team isn’t much bigger than my previous team, but I don’t have to work nearly as hard being a JOAT vs staying in my lane and passing off stuff that’s out of my primary knowledge domain.
