john@lemmy.haley.ioOPto Parenting@lemmy.world•Parental stress is a significant public health issue, US surgeon general says in new advisoryEnglish4·10 months agoDuring COVID, I had multiple people shrug off how hard everything was with kids and disregard parents struggles. That’s a cultural thing which is what studies like this are addressing and trying to help build momentum to change.
It’s easier to build that momentum with data instead of just vibes because even though this is self-evident to both of us, we’re not the hearts and minds that require changing.
It’s similar to how young and single people will be expected to work longer hours because “they don’t have to go home” as if that means that they don’t need time off as well.

We’ve been on a tax-cut & deregulate spiral for 40+ years and it feels like we’re left with a government that can’t accomplish anything anymore.
I’m hopeful with Harris but my god do we have to hold her feet to the fire.
His ass. This is a conspiracy theory that’s been going around for ages with dubious sources at best.
john@lemmy.haley.ioto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Which books, YouTube channels, tips, advice, etc do you recommend for budgeting and personal finance?English81·10 months agoHonestly, everyone else has it spot on with the retirement advice. Even people that are north of $10M net worth follow that same advice.
For personal day-to-day stuff I would recommend You Need A Budget.
This is a fantastic way to keep a budget.

I bought an adapter that adds a 1/4” and an 1/8” jack so I can listen to it through headphones and it’s beyond anything we had just a few years ago.
All of the numbers are rounded. Maybe this is the first month collecting data so everything is starting from 0?
