That does indeed help a bit but it still feels very IOS to have menus slide in from the bottom, a back button in the top left and no side swipe menu. But I still enjoy it as my daily driver on Android

It’s alright. Looks and feels like an IOS app, though.
I’m glad I quickly stopped “homelab” after my old laptop that I used as a server in a cupboard died. Switched to a rented root server for all my selfhosting needs since.
Aegis on mobile and keepassxc on desktop.
“Catholic freight depot random city” makes callers pause for a second to think about what they just heard.
Oh that looks delightfully eccentric, I’ll check it out for sure!
It just works and works.
Yes, Swiftkey became total garbage so I went for something completely different with https://github.com/dessalines/thumb-key and like it so far. Takes some time getting used to but it’s a neat way for input.
I bought a pair of bone conducting headphones and those super light weight and comfortable. But I’m also someone who finds in ears very uncomfortable.

Time Commanders - a British show from quite a few years ago where they had a group of 4 people play Rome: Total War against the AI to reenact a historic battle. With two of the contestants acting as generals and the other two “control” the army - by talking to a guy on a computer playing the game.
I think they deliberately avoided contestants who were somewhat familiar with the game but it just sounds super fun and they had an awesome screen-table with an overview of the battle. They should make a revival with a current game and just have experienced players act as generals to fight against each other with some of their friends acting as lieutenants.
I give up my space on the ship for someone who can appreciate the company
Pirate is definitely out - I don’t really care to be surrounded by guys 24/7 on a crowded and dirty ship. Samurai maybe but I’d go with “Cowboy”. Has the best chance for a somewhat modern life and many chances to meet women…
Good question. I think reporting is left to cases where a post is so bad that a moderator needs to take action to remove it or the user from the community. So downvote things that are of low quality and report things that are against the community or instance rules?
Originally up- and down votes were intended to crowd source filtering and rating content in a community. So voting up for things you want to see more of and vote down spam or content that is unfit for the community. But people will tend to upvote things they agree with and downvote those they deem wrong - I also find myself doing something like that. I now try to follow these rules:
It helps that lemmy currently shows the number of up and down votes instead of just the score, it gives a bit more inhibition before downvoting stuff.
How does it compare to LocalSend?
