    | When did it start to happen

idk exactly but it happened once or twice last week but yesterday it happened like 4 to 5 times in a single day randomly and then i thought switching to another distro or clean install might help but it did freeze once since i have installed mint xfce yesterday.

thank you kind stranger for taking your time to help me out,

  • Yeah it was tough to install it on MBP 2012. Before this particular installation i already had tried to install it once or twice and failed due to some bootloader / grub efi issue.

But i came back after months and tried to get feel of KDE on it. Its good but package manager and software repos are very niche. Not easy to find some apps in repos and u can always install from .tar ball but i dont like that approach. So i hoped to another disteo. YaST tools are awesome. It was the package manager / repo why i switched not KDE itself.

  • Yeah, except one thing which is that my microphone is not working and I had to join from my smartphones for meetings. One night I had my laptop running overnight with charger plugged in and the next morning it was dead. Went to a technician he revived the machine but since then microphone is not working. Even if i plug external mic through 3mm jack it also not works. I am usually busy so can’t afford to go back to that technician’s shop to get it fixed again. So i am living with this for now. And there are no other shops nearby. Rest is all good! And yeah for future viewer, whenever you install a distro on MBP 2012 no matter what it is (fedora, opensuse, mint) you have to install wifi drivers manually and you might need ethernet or USB tethering to do this.

@DetachablePianist@lemmy.world You will get plasma 6.0 way earlier than me, lol.

    Peace :)
