Open Source@lemmy.ml•Pebble Watch Software Is Now 100% Open Source
13·17 days agoI finally got my Duo 2, and while my old OG still lasts 3 days on a battery I figured time to give it rest.
So far its been great, except that I can’t connect to gadgetbridge anymore. I uninstalled the Core pebble app and instead popped MicroPebble on my phone due to not exactly liking where Core was heading, so I’m glad they’re finally pivoting.

3·25 days agoSwitch my ActualBudget authentication to my locally hosted Authelia instance and it was a breeze, with no issues. Always a fantastic feeling.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Is self-hosting becoming too gatekept by power users?English
2·29 days agoFair enough! My own experience has so far been less helpful, due to it hallucinating config based on what I’m asking and if my use case is possible, which made me turn more to perusing docs and source code 🙃

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Is self-hosting becoming too gatekept by power users?English
92·29 days agoEh, the issue with using AI with something like a self-hosted setup is that it lacks nuance and is most likely sourced from all the stack overflow answers without including, again, any context that might be involved.
This leads to situations where it “works,” but potentially in a way with glaring issues that you would otherwise get from this community.
That said, I understand that “advanced” users here can be uptight about things that they believe to be a foregone conclusion, which is where the whole “learning” aspect is what we all need: both learning to self-host “better” and learning to help others.

So far, so good? The initial rollout was rough, and the app kept reuploading my whole album and then realizing it was already there.
But since the flurry of hotfixes, its been smoother sailing

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Bad film with amazing premise and mediocre execution that you can't stop thinking about?
131·7 months agoI’ll be that guy that enjoyed The Last Jedi explicitly because it was something different, and leaned into more of the mystical side of the force while on the “big screen.”
Edit and spoiler just in case
I just remembered the hyperspace “weapon” moment, and both how cool it was and how much it could affect the empire. They probably didn’t mean for it, but that you could effectively point and shoot a ship like that was an amazing usage.
I love my xeros, but they are US based right? In Colorado?
