It might sound weird but I like their texture and I will sit there and fidget with an envelope or a piece of paper in my hand. I have over 50 of them so far in my bag now 😆
The ones I don’t like the feel of get tossed into the recycling bin.
I collect envelopes and computers.

3·5 days agoI would say the late 2000s, because after the 2008 crash things started to get worse yet cost more.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Over what topic has someone argued with you the most on social media?English
10·8 days agoThe treatment of those with disabilities or who are just down on their luck, by the mostly apethic “I’m alright jack” public. I’ve had many arguments with those who thought that just because somebody needed benefits that they were milking the system.
The most disgusting and revolting thing I can read on the subject from somebody is “if I’ve managed to get by fine without state help and support, so can/should they”… And yes many do actually think this way, sometimes even to those who need wheelchairs or other aids.
Sometimes I’ve managed to convince them to care about somebody other than themleves for a change, sometimes I’ve caused them to go away thinking about it, and other times I’ve caused them to double down on their stance.
Either way, the engagements were meaningful and eye opening and I’ll defend this position until the day I die because nobody has any business being that disgusting towards other human beings.
Yes, but I’m more scared for humanity itself than the system. We had the chance and the means to create a generous and free heaven, and instead we have created a greedy debt slave hell.
The system isn’t the problem, it’s us. And if we don’t learn then we’re heading for another repeat.
Did you know that we actually have the means to eradicate poverty the world over?
I will do, thank you!
Yeah, it’s called an opinion. An opinion which is formed from my own observations. You can take it or leave it, but I’m going to keep saying it.
We will always have leaders in some capacity. We are too wired to lead and to follow.
I trust the opinions of open minded and wise scientists the most. The people that should IMO have been our leaders instead of self serving politicians.

I think the same of it as I do the other chat apps, I don’t like the feeling of being online and reachable all the time, so I deleted them all along with Discord some time ago. My mental health has improved very much!

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What do you think about the dead internet theory?English
14·13 days agoMaybe not the whole internet, but it’s been proven that anybody with enough money can pay for a whole bunch of fake profiles powered by bot farms to sway the discussion and online perception in their favor.

I’m still pretty young yet but one thing I’ve noticed with growing older is how less and less people your age seem to want to have fun. I don’t mean acting silly I mean finding time for joy in life and expressing that inner child. And yet they still make mistakes and deal with them like a kid would :/
It really feels like being with children acting like adults, who have forgotten how to be children. Just weird lol.
