You have the choice of whether or not to register with Google and use the play store. My wife and 5 year old require simplicity, so I registered.

Android TV is a little different than Android on a phone. Not every Android app is compatible, but most are. It’s just like a chromecast.

So any play store app like Hulu, Netflix, Disney+ etc will work just fine, as will plex / jellyfin.

I have a hardkernel station m1 running android TV. You can set up with or without the play store, I did mine with. It’s great. The main control is a remote from the couch.

It uses flauncher for the 10’ UI and runs tivimate for iptv. I added a cheap nvme drive for dvr functionality. Other apps include stremio, YouTube, steam link, retroarch, vlc, etc.

Yes, midwest USA. We all have gas pipes into the house for heating. So it became the default for stoves, hot water heating and clothes dryers.

I’ve committed to not buying new gas appliances when the old stuff breaks. I switched to a heat pump water heater last year. I really want to get rid of my gas stove next.

They are super common here in the midwest. I don’t know anyone with an electric drier.

This feels like the best answer. Those are your air conditioner lines. You probably don’t want to seal them in with spray foam.

Your best way to keep pests out is to track those lines from your A/C unit outside to where they enter your house. Seal that up with the pest resistant foam if there is any daylight.

Shove some rockwool insulation into the hole. You can finish with steel wool too for added pest protection. Then put the cable cover up to make it look pretty.

I actually live close to two microcenters! And I could walk to a best buy, but I never do. I sure miss frys, but I’m glad microcenter is still around.

But you’re absolutely right. It’s perfect for basic browsing, signal or to ssh into my vps. It’s not at all suited for gaming, but maybe MS flight simulator will add support for dual core celerons next month because of me!
